Amazing hospitality in a charming ryad
We spent 5 nights as our honeymoon in this hotel and we absolutely loved every bit of it! When we researched hotels in Marrakech, we wanted to stay at a traditional, small, quiet place, which is centrally located. This hotel offered all of this and delivered a truly memorable experience. Being directly in the very centre of Marrakech, we could reach everything in the Medina on foot (including the main tourist attractions and the souks). The Jemaa El-Fnaa square is very busy and vibrant, but we could not hear any of that in our room, as the rooms do not have a window or view to the outside, only to the charming and lovely inner courtyard, keeping us away from street noise and scorching heat. The hotel has a restaurant with a terrace (where we dined twice) and a rooftop terrace with a pool, chilling area, and bar (where we spent some time every afternoon/evening) - both with an amazing view to the Jemaa El-Fnaa square. Breakfast was one of the bests we ever had! Besides the beautiful traditional setting, we loved the staff above all. Every single individual we met was friendly and showed honest care. It was really touching to be honest and made us feel as we were not in a hotel, but staying at a friend's place. We would like to highlight Rabie and Hicham as the friendliest members of staff we probably encountered in our life (hopefully spelled the names correctly). We had a few minor bumps during our stay, such as noise of maintenance works at the hotel's pool area, but this was rectified immediately upon reporting. Also, you have to be prepared to hear noise from the inner courtyard area, which is especially annoying when other guests don't care and they laugh or shout loudly upon returning late to their rooms. This is, however, the characteristic of the traditional ryads. Despite of noise, we were not troubled to have proper sleep every night. Furthermore, we did not receive any special amenity for the special occasion of our honeymoon, which we did not mind, but would have been a nice touch. Overall, we were overwhelmed by the attention of the amazing staff and by the charming traditional setting of the hotel, whilst being absolutely central - best value for money. We will definitely return, perhaps for our first wedding anniversary. :) P.S.: we booked the airport transfer offered at EUR 40 return by the hotel. We find this too expensive, but if it is important to you to hop in at the airport and being taken to the hotel door without tiring yourself with negotiations on the price, then it is recommendable, as there are no taxis allowed to drive to the Jemaa El-Fnaa square from the afternoon - the square being mega busy from late afternoon onwards, this could save some stress surely (as it did for us). The car is far better quality than the normal taxis and the driver is very decent and helpful, whilst we had no hassle of finding our driver or being at the airport in time.
Clean and comfortable
A really friendly, clean and comfortable hotel. So peaceful and tranquil. The food is ok, they keep serving you the breakfast, a huge dish that keeps coming, eggs, bread, croissants, dips, meats, smoothies etc. after 2 days, you learn to say thank you, that’s enough lol. The location is perfect for the hustle and bustle of the market (and a couple of rooftop bars that serve alcohol) Definitely worth a visit.
Great location with friendly and helpful staff.
Arrived in Marrakech in the afternoon, as cars are not allowed to enter into the square after 2pm, we had to make a short walk to the hotel. For about 100 dirham, a porter service is available to carry our luggages. The hotel is very unique and beautiful. Carvings and copper fixtures everywhere. We stayed for 3 nights and watched the semifinal match Morroco v France at the hotel restaurant. The hotel management was kind enough to arrange for the match to be shown there. Location is fantastic next to the famous Jamal el Fana Square. Marrakech streets are the gems... full of great attractions. Watch out for the motorbikes and bicycles which use the lanes too...making this old city so unique. Breakfast at the hotel was great. Overall a very clean hotel with amazing staff.
