A beautiful stay
Thank you to the staff of Sugar Beach for making our stay so wonderful. Great food, beautiful and well appointed rooms, attentive staff. A special mention to the food at Buddha bar and the sunset to go with it. The spa and the staff there was absolutely amazing. We had a great time and will be back.

a very great and beautiful place to be for holidays, wedding, meeting or a get-away hide out to unwind and rest. their services are superior. Food is great and the water and beach activities very good. the attendants very ready to help.
Disappointed
Hotel came with high expectations and did not meet them. This is an upper end resort with price to match and the front reception staff unfortunately let the team down. I checked in at 8am and left my bag in storage before I went to meetings. I then encountered problem No.1 when I requested a plus 1 for dinner at the buffet. Staff member phoned their supervisor in front of me and said "can non-guests use the dinner buffet"....answer was "no" from the supervisor, but this was not the exact situation. Scenario was instead me as a hotel guest on half-board wanting to have a business dinner with a business partner and paying for it. I let this go because staff member seemed fresh faced and new on the job. So I dined out and forfeited my buffet dinner that was already paid for. Roll on the rest of my experience.. No.2 - I booked 5 days and a week before arriving was bumped for 2 days to a sister hotel. No reason given, but luckily the sister hotel met and exceeded all expectations (La Pirogue). No.3 - bec I was a single traveler I was given 2 single beds pushed together. Very hard mattress and requested a move. No.4 - room was located next to live entertainment (band, singer etc) very noisy. No.5 - reception staff ignored my move request and sent housekeeping staff with a foam mattress topper in the shape of a double bed. (clearly ignored my initial request) No.6 - locked out my room with all the to'ing and fro'ing from reception. No.7 - during all the frustration and confusion I return to reception to find the manager at reception attending to other guests' minor requests such as 'what are the great hotel recommendations in the area?' while I am still without a room. He had not located my room yet on the system, No.8 - around 9pm still did not have a room and waited 20 mins while my new room with a double bed room was being made up. No.9 - I checked out at 6:30am the next morning totally disappointed and the check out staff did not ask why or follow up with any solutions. In summary, staff are not properly trained and cannot solve basic problems. Resort is a multimillion dollar investment, perfect location but the people let it down. Stayed at older resorts that seem to have an 'institutional memory' whereby staff just know what to do. This makes the experience worthwhile.
