Club Med - Pragelato Via Lattea
3490 reviews
If you’re looking for stunning Alpine scenery, clear blue lakes and fine powdery snow to go with your ski or summer adventure then Pragelato awaits. This small resort nestled in the Cottian Alps brings big views, amazing sport and a sense of style you simply can’t find across the mountain range.
Secret pleasure
Pragelato is a best kept secret amongst Italians. More than a traditional village, it’s a perfect location for those wanting to explore the Via Lattea, Italy’s amazing milky way of linked pistes that stretch all the way to the French border.
In the summer, the charms are just as strong and a perfect place for exploring the mountains. In warm sunshine and pure air, hike to the massive Fenestrelle Fortress straddled across cliffs and peaks. Practise your swing in view of the Alps at Europe’s highest altitude golf course. Or play with the kids in the indoor and outdoor pools.
In winter, fuel up on Genovese focaccia then ski or snowboard down the Olympic slopes of the Via Lattea and Sestriere ski domains. Snowshoe through the snow-dusted pines, then warm up at the Finnish sauna. Start a snowball fight with the kids then cuddle up with a glass of wine or a cup of cocoa in the cosy lounge.
Spend hours in forests straight from a Grimm fairy tale, work your way up from beginner to intermediate or just enjoy an extensive range of modern pleasures in a chic and stylish setting built from authentic wood and stone.

Everything is made all the more charming by the neighbouring swathes of fir trees on the mountainside. Bright, modern rooms draw on Italian design.
Il Piemonte is just the place to come after a good day out on the slopes. With traditional Italian mountain cuisine, tasteful décor and stunning views of the mountains, what more could you possibly want? Make sure you try some of the local specialities while you're there.
There’s plenty of opportunity to relax in a spa and get pampered with beauty treatments before heading for a meal. Club Med Spa by PAYOT provides a perfect combination of beauty and pleasure. Rebalance body and mind with treatments based on the combination of movement and beauty products.

Lovely venue surrounded by the Milky Way
We had a great week at Pragelato Club Med. It doesn’t feel like the normal ClubMed hotel complexes as it’s a ‘village’ of chalets and apartments spread through the grounds around the club house and wellness spa. Our apartment was great and a good size for the 2 of us (father and daughter). It could do with some more hooks and hanging options as we were limited as to where to hang our wet ski gear and didn’t want to put them into the wardrobes to dry. The food, as always was excellent as was the inclusive drinks. They could have had more beers to choose from but as it was the last week of the season, chances are that they hadn’t restocked just for us. The service was excellent throughout the village, although some of the bar staff were a bit ‘chippy’ at times which was disappointing but probably not surprising with our poor English use of Italian! Also it would have been great to know about the youth club as that seemed to be running but we didn’t know about it at the start so my 12 year old daughter missed out meeting others of her own age. Food and snacks available throughout the day and the ‘welcome home’ in the village square was very entertaining every afternoon, even if the weather wasn’t great. Our boarding guide Stephen was excellent and very good fun. Being a local lad (50 this year) of Sestriere, he was very knowledgeable of the slopes and the best places to go, especially off piste which we did a lot of on our boards where conditions were better as they were untracked. The snow conditions were poor (spring - so ice in the morning and a sugary soup and small ponds in the afternoon) but that didn’t stop us covering a lot of distance and variety. Only complaint on that front was that the local lift company had closed the main gondola out of Sestriere a week earlier so we were limited just to that valley. Given the opportunity, we would definitely go back - lovely alpine vibe, great food, fun entertainment and great slopes and variety when the snow conditions are ok.
Nice ski resort but…
The resort is great, G.O are great, food is good, bar is great, ski is amazing but the service was not enough good. We had some issue with our flights booked through Clubmed and nobody could help. Also, since we were there at the end of the season, there were little amount of GM and some activities were simply canceled (ie: events in the miniClub), and one restaurant was closed. The skiable domain was partly closed because of snow issue (it was ok but disappointing), and because there was not enough snow in the resort the ski in/ ski out was not possible. Luckily there is the gondola which is very handy. Let’s say we were unlucky. Next time we will not book at the end of March!
Holiday missold
Only 1 restaurant open (advertised as 3, plus one on mountain) buffet only & food cold, 1 bar (full of small children as nowhere else to go), pool sporadically open daytime only, sauna closed. Room very nice & bar staff fun.
