How far is Amalfi from Rome?

Amalfi to Rome takes approximately 3 hours by car and is about 175 miles depending which route you take. Another alternative, if you don’t fancy the drive, is to take the train from Salerno to Rome it takes about the same time but allows you to sit back and enjoy the views as you travel. Many companies offer day trips to Rome and these can be booked whilst you are in resort.

Where are the best beaches in Amalfi?

The Amalfi coast is renowned for its dramatic cliff-top views, coastal drives and also the colourful seaside resorts dotted along the coastline. There are very few beaches in this area and most towns and resorts will have bathing platforms that stretch out into the sea. However, Positano is one of the most beautiful and photographed towns with its colourful buildings stretching from the shoreline up the hillside. Ravello’s only beach area is called Castiglione, its small but perfectly formed and is surrounded on 3 sides by sheer cliffs. Or you could try Amalfi’s Spiagggia Grande one of the most lively beaches along that stretch of coastline.
