How far is the airport from Dona Paula?

It is less than 30kms from the airport to Dona Paula. Outside the airport there are plenty of buses with routes connecting all the resorts in Goa to the main towns and cities. To travel by bus will include 2 changes, one in Vasco de Gama and the other in Panjim, this should take approximately 2hrs. Alternatively there are taxis available that will take you directly from the airport to Dona Paula, takes about an hour and costs around Rs 700.


Do I need a visa to travel to Dona Paula?

Yes, as a British Citizen you must have a valid British passport with a minimum of 180 days left on your passport at the time of entry to India.

As well as a valid passport you will also need to apply for a e-Tourist Visa online before you travel. Failure to do this could cause delays and even refusal to enter the country on arrival at the airport in Goa.


When is the best time to visit Dona Paula?

The best time to visit Dona Paula is from November to March, the weather is perfect, with little rain, unbroken sunshine and calm seas. However, this is also peak season so the beaches can become over-crowded especially the resorts in the north of Goa. June through to September is monsoon season and you will find most of the usual facilities closed during this time.
