There are so many things to do in Laganas that it can be hard to know where to begin. Why not start your break here with some time spent on Zante’s beaches?

Something for Beach Lovers

The area surrounding Laganas is home to some of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches in all of Greece. Whether you prefer lazing on the golden sands, getting your adrenaline pumping with thrilling water sports, or exploring the exciting sea caves at Keri or the wreck at Smugglers’ Cove, you’re sure to find the perfect beach whatever your tastes. Laganas Beach stretches for 5km and is the ideal place to work on your tan, or relax with an ice cream as you watch the kids build sandcastles. With plenty of beachfront bars, cafés, and restaurants, you can easily spend a whole day here.

Something for Thrill seekers

While you can’t indulge your love of water sports on Laganas Beach itself (due to the nesting Turtles), you can head for Argassi, just a 15-minute bus journey away. The beach here offers plenty of water sports for adrenaline junkies, from water-skiing to banana boat rides. For something a little more family-friendly, you could always hop aboard a glass-bottom boat and marvel at the colourful marine life; you may even spot Loggerhead Turtles if you’re lucky!

Something for the Kids

In Laganas, things to do are around every corner, and that includes plenty of family-friendly activities for kids of all ages. One of the most popular spots must be Tvilsi Water Park with its slides and pools. Or why not head for Smuggler’s Cove? Kids will love the opportunity to explore the shipwreck here, which it’s said to have once belonged to smugglers.

Something for Those Back Home

When it comes to things to do in Laganas, souvenir shopping should definitely be on the cards, and the main Strip is a great place to start. Here you’ll find high-quality leather goods at reasonable prices, as well as the usual array of Greek souvenirs. For foodies, your best bet is to head for the local supermarkets where you can pick up Ouzo and olive oil to take home.

Something for Night Owls

Laganas really comes to life after dark, when groups of mates head out to party until the sun comes up. The action revolves around The Strip, where you’ll find bars and clubs open until late. This is considered one of the best places to party in Zakynthos, and for good reason. Start your night with a few chilled-out drinks at one of the many bars, before heading to clubs like Plus or Rescue, and look out for special events like foam parties and fancy dress nights.

The fun doesn’t stop when the sun comes up either, as the afterparties on Laganas Beach are legendary. For those who prefer to make a day of it, there’s always the Booze Cruise, where you can enjoy drinks and dancing from early afternoon until the wee small hours, stopping off for a swim along the way!

Just a quick look at the Laganas Zante map reveals all of the area’s attractions, and Laganas is ideally situated for day trips to Argassi and Zante Town, so there’s no shortage of things to do in Laganas.
