Skiathos Walking Trails
Get back to nature and look forward to seeing some spectacular scenery when you tackle some of the Skiathos walking trails. The island has a wonderful range of walks, whether you want to go for a relaxing stroll or a more challenging hike.
There are many miles of walking trails across Skiathos, which usually take you through beautiful landscapes. Whether you want to go for a short stroll or spend the whole day trekking, you can be sure that you’ll find something to suit, with lots of walks starting from the ring road around Skiathos Town. You can expect to come across picturesque rolling hills, river valleys and forest, quaint
villages and the occasional monastery.
Before you set off on any route, make sure you have lots of water with you. The sun can get really hot if you’re in Skiathos over summer, so as well as staying hydrated, remember to use plenty of sun cream. It’s a good idea to take your mobile phone with you, as there’s generally good signal in
Skiathos in case you get into any difficulty.
With a strong set of shoes on your feet, set off with a spring in your step. Pick a track up a mountain or hill and you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views back down over the island and out across the Aegean. Don’t forget to charge your camera up before you leave, and leave plenty of space on your memory card for some great photos.
If you’re feeling a bit hot and sweaty after your walk, head straight to Troulos Beach and go for a
refreshing dip in the sea. Then go for dinner in Skiathos Town and book a boat trip for your next day out.
