Offering the perfect blend of culture, relaxation and nightlife, holidays in Kamari are ideal if you're  looking for a sophisticated Mediterranean escape. Rejuvenate mind, body and soul on Kamari’s famous black sand and shingle beach before an evening of music and cocktails at one of the beachfront bars. For your culture-fix, spend an afternoon combing through the ruins at the Ancient Thera archaeological site.

Set on a mountain just above Kamari’s black sand and pebble beach, Ancient Thera is the archeological site of a historic town. Drive or hike the winding road to the top of the mountain to see a fascinating range of ancient treasures, including Hellenistic shops, old roads and temple ruins. Give yourself at least two hours to explore, and take some time to appreciate the spectacular views across the island before you leave.

Welcoming you with 2km of black volcanic sand and pebbles, Kamari’s Blue Flag beach is the most famous in Santorini. Come here to soak up the Mediterranean sun or marvel at the dramatic cliff landscape. For a break from tanning, explore the bars, shops and restaurants along the pedestrian promenade. Or choose from a range of water activities on offer, including snorkelling and banana boat rides. In the evening, the beachfront is one of the best places to go in Kamari for live music and DJ sets.

As the sun sets, Kamari transforms from a laidback beach town to a party hotspot. From traditional eateries serving up hearty Greek cuisine, to swanky cocktail bars and neon-lit clubs, there is a range of nightlife to suit different tastes. Santorini Cine, the open-air cinema is a good choice for guests seeking more relaxed nighttime activities in Kamari. Movies start at 9:30pm and all of the movies are screened in English.
