Should I hire a car in Petra?

For Petra itself, you can walk in the village. For the two nearest villages there is a ‘beachbus’ in the high season. All season there are always taxis available and not expensive (7-8 euro per trip, 4 persons fit in a taxi).

What is Petra like in October?

We do not fly to the island in October, the main season runs from April to September for Thomas Cook.

What excursions can I do from Petra?

We organise an excursion to the West, petrified Forest Parc, Moni Limonos Monastery and lunch/relax in Skala Eressos.
An evening excursion, Local Label, with guiding from our reps to the authentic villages to discover the greek folklore museum and village life in Sikaminia and enjoy a meze-dinner in Skala Sikaminia. There are small boat trips and also day trips with a barbeque included on the boat also available.

Are the bars and restaurants open late in Petra?

Closing time depends on the people around. When lots of people around the restaurants and bars stay open until everybody has gone. In July and August this is in the early hours of the morning. In May and June and September and October there will be less guests and less late openings, it will be around midnight.
