Nikiana – Weather
Nikiana is on the east coast of Lefkas and has a striking mountainous backdrop with a stunning view of the coast. The resort enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and cool winters.
The weather in Nikiana is mild for most of the year with cooler temperatures arriving in December. The daily average is around 14°C, which is still fairly mild and enjoyable. At night, temperatures in Nikiana drop to 6°C, which is quite chilly. The sea is around 17°C in winter, which is too cold for water sports and doesn’t warm up until the end of spring.
March experiences slightly warmer weather with an average temperature of 16°C. As the season progresses, temperatures improve to highs of 23°C in May. Rainfall is moderate at around 55mm in March that gradually increases to 73mm by May.
Summer is the warmest and sunniest time to visit Nikiana. Temperatures reach highs of 29°C in July, which is one of the warmest and driest months of the year. There’s less than 1mm of rain per month that increases to 48mm in September. The sea is warm and pleasant in the summer with an average water temperature of 25°C.
If you don’t like the heat, travel in autumn for more bearable temperatures. You can still enjoy an average temperature of 18°C in November with a pleasant cooling breeze blowing to the shore.
