When is the best time of year to travel to Sami?

This depends on what kind of weather you would like – if you would like it cooler or less busy then May, June and September but if you would like it hotter then July or August. Of course in July and August it will get a bit busier however Kefalonia has a steady flow of tourism throughout the whole season.

Near Sami you have the Drogorati caves and the Melissani Lake both of which are visited by all the cruise ships and excursion providers. This is also where the ferry for Ithaca leaves.
