Malia – Weather
Malia is a popular destination for holidaymakers along the northern coast of Crete. Malia weather is generally warm and sunny with colder temperatures arriving in winter. Summer is the warmest and best time to visit for the most sunshine. June has an average temperature of 22°C that increases to 25°C in July. The good weather remains in September, which is the last month of summer and enjoys a daily average of 26°C and nightly lows of 19°C.
The weather in Malia is warm and sunny in autumn, with an average temperature of 19°C in October that gradually lowers to 16°C in November. Although it’s not as hot as the summer, autumn is a great time to visit the coastal town of Malia for quieter beaches and fewer crowds.
Winter weather in Malia is quite mild thanks to the region’s warm Mediterranean climate. Temperatures range from 8°C to 16°C between December and February before rising to 15°C in spring. The sea temperature is mild for most of the year but is usually too cold by December. In the summer, the sea offers the perfect escape from intense heat and is ideal for water sports such as scuba-diving, snorkelling and windsurfing.
