The Monastery of Faneromeni

Aghios Nikolaos is a traditional Greek destination with a long and interesting history. One great example of this rich history is the Monastery of Faneromeni, which gives its visitors a real chance to experience some of the cultural heritage that Greece is famous for.

The monastery is built into a hillside 450 metres over the Minoan city of Gournia, with a church inside a cave, providing staggering and breathtaking views from the top.
