Never 3*. Officially 1 - 2 star property
Booked this hotel through TUI as an add on to a cruise. As we had been on an all inclusive cruise we only required half board for our second week. From the TUI brochure this hotel looked ideal. The TUI brochure claimed this hotel was 3* and shows some really lovely photographs of the property. The hotel itself is just outside the main centre of Sidari, which is quite ordinary with a selection of restaurants, bars and gift shops. It is also close to the beaches most of which are covered in sea weed which does not appear to be cleared at least it wasn’t when we visited. The hotel from outside looks reasonably well cared for. Entering the hotel we were met by very strong cooking smells from the hotel kitchen which is situated behind the reception area. The Dinning room was very cold looking and closely resembles a works canteen. Dinning furniture was dirty and some wobble due to lose joints. Meals were self serve from a very basic counter. Breakfast consisted of the same every morning. Scrambled eggs which were very dry and barely warm. Smoked bacon which was extremely greasy and again not very hot. No fresh fruit the only fruit offered at breakfast was tinned fruit salad. There was also a selection of breads cheese etc. Evening dinner was very basic, and again unless it was chips straight from the kitchen was never hot. Trays holding food were standing in heated water which just about kept food warm. Our room was on the middle floor overlooking the side road which led up-to the hotel main entrance. Room was in our opinion was quite small and lacked adequate storage space. Room was clean other than a dirty mirror which you could write in. We paid for air conditioning €5 per night which worked well and was quite quiet when running. We also paid for room fridge (€10 per week) which was was very rusty along its door. We did complain about its condition to wish we were told “it works” Bathroom was a decent size overall but the shower cubicle was small 80 x 80cm. The shower tap was in fact a bath tap which projected into the shower by about 20cm reducing and restricting movement. Overall our stay at this property was very disappointing. It is not an official 3* property as advertised. A nightly room tax is paid based on the official rating of the property which is 1 - 2 * which in my opinion is all this property deserves.
A lovely supprise.
This hotel is much better than the reviews thst some people have given in the recent past. It was a great hotel with great friendly staff, the receptionists were very helpful and always friendly. The dinning room staff were also very polite and always willing to help. The bar staff were also very polite and served us very quickly. The cleaning staff, they were very good, in problems with the room, but, they like to let everyone know that they are here!! Lol. Our room was perfect, no issues at all. The food was good, and plenty of choice too. To sum up, a great hotel, in a perfect location, very good food. Would we stay here again? Yes. Without a doubt. Thank you to all the staff, we had a great holiday.
Average hotel
The hotel is average. Nice and clean most of the staff very friendly. Barman at night got annoyed very easily. ..This is not a cheap holiday.you have to pay room tax ,fridge, air conditioning, safe, no water supplies with your evening meals. One euro a bottle..you can buy 12 for 2.98.rooms were very clean but small if you are a large person you cannot have a shower the showers are small.
