Banjul Beach – Weather

The weather in Banjul Beach is hot and sunny all year round with two distinctive seasons. The dry season is from November to May and the region enjoys less rainfall as dry weather blows in from the northeast. Temperatures in Banjul Beach are still very warm with highs in the low 30s. January is the coldest month of the year with nightly lows of 17°C, which is still quite mild and enjoyable. Temperatures increase in May with sandstorms becoming more likely over spring. This is caused by strong winds taking up sand from the Sahara to the northeast.

Banjul Beach weather during the wet season is very wet and hot with high humidity levels from June to October. Downpours become a regular feature along with a rise in the likelihood of a thunderstorm hitting the region. Temperatures are very high and rarely drop below 22°C at night. The high humidity makes the weather seem hotter and balmy, which can make outdoor activities more difficult to complete. Take regular breaks from the sun and try to stay in the shade during the hottest part of the day. July and August are very hot and the daily average high often rises above 32°C, which contributes to the increased risk of thunderstorms.
