Getting around

By taxi: You’ll have no trouble getting a taxi in the resort; they’re readily available and ideal for airport transfers and day trips. They generally operate on a fixed rate basis, so it’s a sensible idea to check the fare before you hop in. 

By shuttle bus: A network of small shuttle buses serves the resort; it’s a simple and affordable way to get around. Many hotels also offer a service to the marina and beach. 

By tok tok: You’ll see these little three-wheel taxis running all over the place. They’re cheap and quick way of getting around the resort and to the beach. You’ll find a tok tok station at the marina.


Sandbox Festival: Held every year in May, the Sandbox Festival is a two-day celebration of electronic music. Expect open-air partying against the beautiful backdrop of this stunning resort, featuring DJs and live performers from Egypt and beyond. 

Street festival: From April to November, El Gouna hosts the Marina Street Festival every Friday night, filling Abu Tig Marina with music, entertainment and plenty of food and drink. Most local hotels provide free shuttle service down to the marina.
