Fantastic holiday which could be a 5 star with a few changes
We travelled to Nausicaa beach as 3 adults and two children aged 7 & 3. We arrived late at night after delays to a friendly lady on reception who showed us to our rooms. As we had missed dinner they had put water, orange juice and some sandwiches in the fridge which was nice. We booked exactly the same rooms- a one bedroom apartment. The next day we realised that the two rooms were very different. One room was quite modern and updated and the other was quite tired and really needed updating and modernising. However, we decided not to complain as both rooms had a sea view which we had not paid extra for. The view was stunning! The hotel is kept clean and tidy and is very attractive with lots of pretty flowers and white washed buildings. It is in the most fantastic location with utterly stunning views. A little walk along the coastal path brings you to a few bars and cafes and about 10-15 minutes brings you onto the main Protarus strip. The swimming pools were kept clean and were a nice temperature. So many hotel pools are freezing and these were comfortable and refreshing. The main pool area has a bar and toilets. The lady who worked on the bar every day worked so hard and was the most efficient member of staff by far. The day she was off, the wait was double for drinks! It was fairly easy to get a sunbed with us coming rom breakfast at about 10am and still getting a lounger and parasol. There were activities around the main pool which the children enjoyed. The quieter pool which is near the entertainment stage- We only used this on our last day. Some improvements are definitely needed. The bar does not open until 1pm and there is not even a water machine there. The floor was a little grubby and needed more attention with cleaning. Just before leaving my daughter used the pool ladder to get into the pool. She cried out in pain and said she burnt her fingers. As she was then in the water it obviously delayed the pain but as we got out and ready to leave for the coach she was complaining about her fingers. We saw that they were very red and burnt. As the evening wore on they started to crack and blister. we had to give her pain relief and put sudocrem and dressings on each. I have had a response from the hotel which was good. I have still not heard from TUI however. I would like to actually know what has been put in place to stop this happening again. The weather was hot but we went in May. I can only imagine what could happen to a child in August. The food was the real highlight of this hotel. Every meal was fantastic and there was no need for us to eat out when the quality was that good. we usually get a little bored on A/I but not at this hotel. it was always fresh, hot and tasty and every where was spotless. The drinks were a little slow at coming at meal times sometimes and i think self service would work better but overall it was fine. The fruit juices were really horrible though and actually undrinkable. The thing that really needs improving here is the evening entertainment and bar area. The only place to go in the evening is the stage for children's entertainment which doesnt have a bar directly by it or toilets. The bar by the pool is open but was quiet with very little atmosphere. The shows were of very poor quality and very few people watched them. The TUI staff worked tirelessly and were so friendly. However, the stuff they were being asked to do/ perform was just awful. I felt sorry for them. The programme needs to change. Kids club was very good and very safe. Overall I would recommend this hotel. All the rooms needs to be of a similar standard and some need updating, the evening entertainment needs improving with another bar open/area to enjoy in the evening and a slide in one of the pools would be a fabulous addition! The staff are good, the food is excellent and the location is out of this world. Go you wont regret it but Nausicaa Beach you could be 5* with some changes.
Great
I am one week into a two week holiday and so far it has been very good. The food is of a very good standard, plentiful and the head chef watches like a hawk making sure things are fully filled and warm. The queue can get a little long at busier times but it is only a little wait. The pools are small but plenty of sunbeds, there is a sign telling you not to reserve sunbeds, but to be honest some people do and it's not a massive issue as there is a second pool which always has space and plenty of sunbeds around the property. There is a small jetty leading directly into the the sea, which is nice. The pool bar staff are very good. The cleaner walking round all day asking "how are you today" are just part of the staff making my stay feel special. There are plenty of things to do during the day, lead by the ever eager TUI staff. One small detail I would suggest to massively improve the experience is at least 2 more water filling stations. I applaud the commitment to less plastic bottles but for some filling their existing bottle is a bit of a trek Overall the location is perfect, a small walk gets you into the hustle and bustle of fig tree bay, or just stay onsite for a thoroughly relaxing time surround by palm trees and we'll manicured lawns with nice flowers and other flowering trees.
PERFEKT HOTEL BUT …..
The hotel and Its area was perfekt. Food was at Its higest Class, and the view you get on the pool side is amazing. It’s also placed around 50 meters from a beautiful beach, and 100 meters from a amazing and Las Vegas style walking street. The only issue I had with the hotel was the rooms, the rooms were not “up to date” and had some major problems, the walls was very dirty, and the air condition wasn’t the best.
