Do I need transport if I'm staying in Paphos?

There is a bus service covering the Paphos area. More information can be found online, at tourist information offices or at the main bus stations in Paphos and Polis. The bus service covers all of the Paphos town area (including the harbour), the surrounding villages including Polis and Pissouri and Paphos airport. This service offers a low-cost way to get around and generally runs during the day and evening. The cities of Limassol and Nicosia can also be accessed by bus.
There are also many excursions offered by Thomas Cook for those who want to explore further afield. There are many companies offering car hire in the Paphos area. It’s very easy to drive in Cyprus as they drive on the same side of the road as the UK and ROI. The roads are excellent, well signposted and most of the signs are in English. Please check with the individual hire companies regarding insurance. Also be aware that most hire cars are not insured to cross the border into the northern part of Cyprus.
