Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel & Spa

Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris is a 4 star Adult Only All Inclusive hotel, on the outskirts of Paphos. Boasting a beachfront location, you’ll find indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a range of fitness activities on offer. These include aqua aerobics, yoga, Zumba, Pilates and table tennis. There’s also golf courses and go-karting tracks in the local vicinity.

The on-site spa offers various services to help you unwind and de-stress. Body treatments, massages, facials, makeup services, manicures, pedicures, hen party packages, hair styling and waxing treatments are just some of what’s on offer. But the stand-out feature is the high salinity Floating Pool. There’s also a sauna, hot tub and fully equipped gym.

The Ariadne Lounge Bar is open for drinks and refreshments from 10am until midnight. The swim-up pool bar also has an ice cream kiosk in the afternoon. End the day with a dance at the nightclub, open from 9pm until 1am. (Note that drinks served after midnight incur a surcharge).

When it’s time to eat, the Blue Horizon Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As long as your stay is over three nights, you can also reserve a table for dinner at as many of the a la cartes as you like. Hawas Gardens has a menu of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Mourayio provides a Greek Taverna experience. Sushi lovers won’t want to miss out on eating at Egao. And there’s no prizes for guessing which country’s foods are dished up at Little Italy. It’s also open for light bites from 10:30 to 5:30, if you fancy some pizza, tagliatelle or ice cream. Note that Hawas Gardens has a dress code, so pack something smarter than shorts and flip flops if you wish to dine there. Between April and October there’s an additional option - La Snacheria del Mare, offering tasty street food from 12:30 to 5:30.

Standard double/twin rooms have both air conditioning and heating. The amenities include satellite TV, a safe and tea & coffee making facilities. Premium rooms are larger and are located on the fifth floor. Deluxes are located on the sixth floor and boast additional benefits. These include bottled water (replenished daily), an espresso machine, discounts on spa and other services and a personal trainer service. Plus, you’ll receive a bottle of wine, a basket of fruit and a box of chocolates on arrival.

There are numerous historical sites to visit in Paphos (just 6km from Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris), so make sure you book a long enough stay to see everything. You could easily spend an entire day wandering through the Kato Pafos Archaeological Park, a site of great significance in ancient Greek and Roman history that continues to undergo excavation. Within the park, visitors can marvel at intricate mosaics and explore the ruins of temples and theatres. Additionally, there are other noteworthy areas to visit such as the expansive Site of the Tombs of the Kings, the meticulously restored House of Dionysus and much more.

For something a bit different make a 26km drive south to see the spectacular Aphrodite's Rock, mentioned in Greek mythology. If you travel an additional 45 kilometres, you’ll reach the Holy Monastery of the Cats. The legend goes that when a snake infestation took over the island of St Helena, cats were imported from Persia and Egypt to tackle the problem. Today, it’s a tradition for homeless cats to be given shelter at the monastery.
