Grk is the classic Korčula wine, originating in and around the village of Lumbarda on the far eastern tip of the island. Here, Frano Milina-Bire and his family not only produce wine but hams, herbs, vegetables, olives and cheeses, too. Visit their estate to sample the wares, dine and maybe even spend the night in rustic accommodation.
As for the wine itself, Grk dates back a long time, as the Ancient Greeks, who settled here more than 2,000 years ago, are thought to have cultivated this native variety of grape. So, you’re not just drinking a slightly aromatic dry white, you’re tasting history!
