Restaurant Giaxa in Hvar

It is surely no coincidence that stellar restaurant Giaxa is housed in a late Gothic palace dating back to Hvar’s Venetian era of the mid-1400s, for the cuisine here reflects local traditions dating back to the noble Jakša clan who lived here.

Caught and cultivated close to home, the fresh fish, seafood and vegetables are given a cosmopolitan, contemporary twist. Current examples include prosciutto ravioli in black-truffle sauce and an exquisite rendition of gregada, Hvar-style fish soup served alongside a basket of home-baked bread.
