Romantic Restaurants in Venice
As long as you have a view of the water, some Italian music and a bowl of spaghetti for your Lady and the Tramp moment, Venice is romantic wherever you are. But if you’re after a bit more sparkle, there’s a few places guaranteed to give you an extra-special evening.
Linea d’Ombra is on the Zattere waterfront. It’s a little on the pricey side but the pretty location makes it worth the extra few euros. The restaurant’s modern and chic and serves award-winning wine. If you’re going all out, have the Venetian-style veal or the blue lobster.
To crank up the romance another notch, take in a sunset at I Figli delle Stelle. It’s on the small island of Guidecca and gives you pretty views across the water to St. Mark’s. After enjoying some pan-Italian cuisine, you can move over to the sofas to sip a cleansing aperitivo.
If you’re in love with your veggies as well as your partner, La Zucca is the place to go. The menu focuses mainly on what’s grown in the ground and you can even watch them rustle up your dish from your seat. You’ll find it just off San Giacomo Square.
Going a little nautical, La Caravella serves traditional dishes inside its ship-like tavern. It’s been open since the 1960s, and their different dishes reflect the traditions of the city. Hit the spot with spider crab, homemade pasta and fish soups.
If you want romance on a shoestring, bear in mind that restaurants aren’t always the most romantic option in Venice. With markets like the Rialto, you can gather up your own exotic ingredients and enjoy a picnic while enjoying Venice’s pretty views. Just don’t forget to gaze into your partner’s eyes as well!
