Golden Circle Tour in Iceland

Take the ultimate day trip around Iceland and experience the country’s three favourite natural sights with the Golden Circle Tour. Starting with a visit to the Geysir geothermal area, you’ll relax in the hot springs and treat your skin in the mud pools before seeing Strokkur geyser erupt up to 20 metres into the air.

After taking in the hot springs, you’ll travel on to Gullfoss waterfall. The beautiful falls are 32 metres high, so don’t forget your camera as you see one of Iceland’s most famous natural sights plunging into the Hvítárgljúfur Canyon. After a short walk, you’ll be close enough to feel the cold glacial water spraying on your face while listening to the deafening roar of the falls.

If you’re feeling hungry, there’s a café near the waterfall serving up delicious traditional soups.

Finally, you’ll continue on to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site set along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. As the place where the North American and European tectonic plates meet, you’ll step between continents as you explore Almannagja Canyon and Iceland’s biggest natural lake, Thingvallavatn.

Look out for beautiful plants, mink and migrant birds. Thingvellir National Park is also the place where Iceland’s ancient parliament once met, and continued to be the home of the national assembly right up until 1798.

As you walk through the park, try to imagine the landscape under Viking rule. Throughout the day-long Golden Circle Tour you’ll have pit stops for refreshments and a break for lunch, before returning back to Reykjavik with lots of photos and plenty of unforgettable memories.
