Evenings in Monte Carlo
When the sun starts to set into the Mediterranean, Monte Carlo’s Sea Lounge bar is one of the best places to be. This smart lounge on a private beach is decorated in black and white and hung with mirrors. It’s perfect for cocktails at sunset, before DJs get the party started on the terrace dance floor later on.
Another good beachside venue is La Note Bleu on Larvotto beach. This beach club turns into a jazz bar in the evenings and has live music. Choose from the Mediterranean and Italian dishes as you watch the musicians by candlelight for a romantic evening.
Le Bar Américain at the Hotel de Paris is an elegant step back in time if you’re looking for old fashioned charm. Its soft lighting, dark wood and jazz music create a relaxing atmosphere in the heart of the casino district.
If you want to hit the dance floor, Jimmy’z on Avenue Princess Grace is Monaco’s most famous nightclub. It’s been going strong for over 30 years and is still the place where Monte Carlo’s most glamorous crowd go to be seen. There’s a tropical Japanese garden as well as indoor and outdoor dance floors. Look out for celebrities, models and billionaires, with music from big name international DJs like David Morales.
Monte Carlo’s nightlife isn’t just champagne and cocktails. If you’re more of a beer fan then head to the city’s own brewery bar, the Brasserie de Monaco. Monaco’s only microbrewery produces four different organic beers and you can take a brewery tour to find out more. It’s right on the harbour with an open-air terrace bar where you can have local antipasti to go with your beer.
