Relax on Dubrovnik’s famous Banje Beach, just a short walk away from the Old Town in the ancient part of the city. Hire a lounger and set up your spot on the pebble and sand shores, lying back as you read a book in the warm Croatian sunshine.
To get there, leave the city via the east gate and walk 100 metres before arriving at the beach. Take the steps down to the sands, where you’ll be welcomed with views across the clear blue sea to Lokrum island. With ancient Dubrovnik behind, Banje Beach is a stunning spot so make sure you take plenty of pictures.
Order a refreshing drink from the beach bar and relax in the sun before cooling off in the inviting water. If you’re feeling energetic you can rent a pedalo or jet ski, take a ride on the water tube, or even go paragliding. Just remember to wear plenty of sun cream, as the sun’s very strong, especially out on the water.
When you get hungry, go to the beachside restaurant and tuck into some traditional food. As the day fades, watch the sunset and prepare for a party like no other as Banje Beach comes alive, transforming itself into a lively nightclub and cocktail bar.
If you prefer to move away from the beach, walk back into the Old Town to eat at a family-run restaurant, enjoy a beer at one of the local bars or listen to some live music.
