Amsterdam nightlife every night of the week
In Amsterdam, every night’s a party night, starting with Supperclub’s Party on Monday. Start the evening in bed at the quirky restaurant, where dinner is served while you lay back on a mattress on the floor. Then join the party with DJs playing a mix of house and R&B.
Tuesday nights mean Techno Tuesday at the Sugar Factory on Lijnbaansgracht. This creative venue hosts a mix of performances, so if you get there early you can check out some cabaret, theatre or live music before hitting the dance floor.
Disco Dolly on Handboogstraat is a cosy bar come club that’s popular with Amsterdam’s students. Each night has a different theme and Wednesday’s is Dolly Surround. You’ll find a real mix of music with different DJs each week who play their favourite disco, rock and techno tunes.
Thursday nights is Super Social night at Leidseplein’s Chicago Social Club. The venue’s on two levels, open until 4am, and has a friendly techno loving crowd. Take advantage of the drinks offers before you join the locals on the dance floor, or just take it all in from the balcony.
On Friday nights, head to Rembrandtplein’s Escape for their HouseRules night. Expect Chicago influenced house music along with light shows, special effects and international guest DJs in this ultra modern club.
Saturday night is Amsterdam’s biggest clubbing night so you’re spoilt for choice. Melkweg on Lijnbaansgracht started life as a dairy but is now a concert hall and music venue. On Saturdays it runs the Netherlands’ biggest and best hip hop and R&B night, Encore. DJs mix new and classic tracks featuring every type of hip hop you’ve heard of, plus a few you probably haven’t.
If you want to end the week in relaxed style, spend Sunday night at Korte Leidsedwarsstraat’s Jazz Café Alto. They have live jazz and occasionally blues seven nights a week. It’s a cosy brown café-style bar which serves cocktails and whiskies. You’ll find mostly local acts but a few big names have also played there.
