Coco Bongo Cancun

The sister club to Coco Bongo Playa del Carmen, Coco Bongo Cancun is even bolder, brighter, and more vibrant. Located slap-bang in the middle of the Hotel Zone, it's hugely popular and packed out every night. Its convenient location means you don't have to walk too far after a night's partying, either.

However, if you fancy recharging your batteries after a night dancing and being entertained by those amazing acrobats, the Coco Bongo Cancun is just a block away from the Caribbean Sea. So a sunrise walk on the beach is just the thing to finish a perfect night out.

Back in the club you get the same level of high-octane entertainment, with a happy crowd cheered on by the on-stage dancers. They'll lead the party, keeping you energised and keen to keep on dancing right through the night. Above your head, acrobats spin and twirl, creating a unique experience that you won't get anywhere else. In between dancing and staring in awe at the insanely brave ribbon dancers, you can grab a cocktail or a soft drink at the open bar.

Coco Bongo Playa del Carmen is located a block away from the city's famous 5th Avenue, so you're right in the heart of all the action. You may be surrounded by colourful Caribbean-style buildings, premium quality restaurants and that chilled-out vibe that you get throughout the Riviera Maya, but once you go through those doors you're entering a world full of high-octane entertainment.

Coco Bongo Playa del Carmen is much more than just a dance club, though. It's a performance, an experience, and one that you won't forget in a hurry. While you get hot and sweaty to some seriously pumping tunes spun by some of the world's top DJs, above your head performance artists and acrobats fly across the room on silk ribbons, performing death-defying pirouettes and tumbles that will make you gasp.

Themed displays have Spiderman defeating his enemies, while all the time doing what ”Spidy' does best, swinging from beam to beam and shooting webs from his wrist. Live performances pay tribute to the very best musical legends, while the professional dancers whip the crowd up into a frenzy. And there's balloons. Lots and lots of balloons!

Tickets

The Coco Bongo clubs operate a ticket system, and you can buy them in advance online. You can upgrade to Gold Membership, and both tickets include open bar drinks with or without alcohol. A regular ticket lets you access the open bar until 3:30am.

The Gold member ticket is a great upgrade, putting you on the ”guest list' so there's no waiting in line, and assuring you a reserved seat inside. Your open bar is available until 4am on a Gold Member ticket. Bear in mind that although you can change the date of your tickets, you can't get a refund if you decide to cancel. But with such a fabulous experience in store for you, who would want to cancel anyway?

Dress code

There's no dress code at Coco Bongo, so you can pretty much wear what you want. It does get hot in there, so dress in light clothing. You definitely won't need a jumper in here!

Getting in

You must be over 18 to get in, and you'll need official ID to prove your age. A photo driving licence or your passport should be sufficient.

Grabbing a picture

You can take small digital cameras into the clubs, so you can capture that incredible experience. You can even take a GoPro in with you to shoot videos of the shows.

Get the VIP treatment

Both Coco Bongo Playa del Carmen and Coco Bongo Cancun offer exclusive services to visitors so that you can have a night to remember but without spending all evening queuing to get in. The Coco Bongo clubs get crowded. Very, very crowded! Even with a ticket entry system, queues can be long.

The best way to bypass all of that is to book a VIP table, that still lets you feel the energy of the party but whisks you in with no waiting in line. Book a VIP table and you'll be met by your personal host on arrival, and feel like a rock-star as you get VIP entry (which means no queues). The bottle service is based on the cost of the table, but bear in mind it doesn't include tips, so make sure you have a bit of spare cash on you. You'll also get a privileged view of the show.

Diamond tables

If VIP isn't enough, then why not go for an upgrade to Diamond? Coco Bongo's Diamond tables are the most exclusive way to spend a night out at these amazing venues. A Diamond table gives you exclusive access to a private area for up to 15 people, with an unrivalled view of the show from start to finish. Your own personal host greets you on arrival, and just like VIP there's no waiting in line to get in, and you're taken straight to your private area.

The bottle service is the same as VIP, with consumption equivalent to the amount you've paid for the table. Again, this doesn't include gratuities. You'll be served by a private waiter, and even get your own bodyguard!
