Ocho Rios – Weather
Ocho Rios has a spectacular climate with warm temperatures and clear skies all year round. Its position on Jamaica’s coast means it’s overlooking the glistening Caribbean Sea, which is usually mild enough for swimming throughout the year. There’s two distinct seasons which may influence when you decide to visit. The wet season runs from May to November with up to 11 hours of blissful sunshine per day. The hottest months to visit are July and August, which has temperature highs of 33°C and nightly lows of 26°C.
The weather in Ocho Rios in the wet season is quite humid, hot and damp. Showers are generally short and heavy with most of the rain spread across October, which has an average monthly rainfall of 171mm. This means there’s at least 15 rainy days that drops to 14 wet days in November. Windy days are more likely in the summer, which bring relief from the balmy atmosphere caused by high humidity levels.
If you don’t like the scorching heat, travelling during the dry season might be more comfortable. Temperatures in Ocho Rios in the dry season are between 23°C and 29°C. Tropical showers are less likely at this time of year and you’ll have around eight hours of sunlight per day. The coldest months are January and February, which has a daily average of 26°C.
