BLUE SEA Lanzarote Palm

BLUE SEA Lanzarote Palm is on the south coast of Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands. The island, which is off the coast of North Africa and has a subtropical climate, is famous for its volcanic landscape and its beaches. The hotel is in a popular area a short walk from the beach in Puerto del Carmen, a seaside resort with lots of bars and shopping opportunities. The hotel consists of whitewashed buildings in a Mediterranean style. There are palm trees dotted around the grounds, plus a garden where you can lounge on in the sun. The hotel has two outdoor pools, one of which is for children. As you enjoy the outside area, you can get a drink at the pool bar between dips. There's a pool table if you fancy challenging a fellow guest to a game or two over a beer. Reception is open 24 hours a day and there's a mini market where you can pick up essentials. When it's time to head out of the hotel, you'll find plenty to experience in the wider area surrounding BLUE SEA Lanzarote Palm. If you fancy going further afield, you could visit Arrecife, the island's capital city, which is within driving distance of the hotel. Those interested in the island's geological history may wish to go to Timanfaya National Park, also within driving distance, in the northeastern part of the island. Here you can admire volcanic scenery and hold stones that have been warmed from the magma that lies 4km below.

Lanzarote Palm is in Puerto del Carmen and 500m away from the beach. This wide stretch of sand is suitable for bathing and playing games. On Avenida de las Playas, along the seafront, you'll find the widest selection of shops and a range of bars, some of which show sporting events. For a quieter afternoon, you could wander to El Varadero harbour, where you can get a feel for a working Canarian port. There is an ATM approx. 500 meters from the hotel. Golf fans may choose to have a round or two on the course that's a short drive away from the hotel. For a day trip, you may choose to head to Arrecife, which is around 15km away heading east along the coast. Here you'll find further bars and restaurants. You could wander along the promenade and visit the two castles or a museum. There's also a beach with a lagoon.

There's a buffet restaurant at the hotel. For eating out, you'll find a number of options in Puerto del Carmen, including local tapas bars and international options such as Italian and British pub food. You may also wish to try some locally caught seafood during your stay.

For an exhilarating afternoon out, you could head to the water park that's with driving distance of smartline Lanzarote Palm, beyond Arrecife.

Rooms at Lanzarote Palm are airy and decorated in neutral hues with colourful accents. All have a separate living area with a sofa bed.

Really great for the small price we paid!!!

May 2022 | sarahwalker777

We arrived about 1pm and we did most of the check on straight away but couldn’t get the room until 3pm. We was given our wristbands for the all inclusive and allowed to go get food and drinks until our room was ready. Annoyingly we wasn’t aware that the all inclusive bar now use eco plastic cups and are €1 deposit per cup. So we didn’t have any cash on us to even get a drink. My hubby had to go find a cash machine to get some money so we could get a drink. We got our key at 3pm on the dot and was in room 138 just a few doors down from reception on the ground floor. Room was very nice actually. A bit rough round the edges with good intentions. Nice waterfall shower that took about 3mins for temp to stabilise. Cooking facilities even though all inc, including fridge and hob. Air con unit in bedroom but €10 deposit for the remote. €3.50 per day non-refundable deposit for the safe. Food adequate. For someone with a severe shellfish allergy every dish was properly labelled with multiple languages and pictures of the allergens. Until our second to last day all was well but they labelled squid rings as onion rings which was very lucky I just had a shellfish allergy and not fish in general as that would of been a disaster. Unfortunately a vegan has also eaten a squid ring. Staff didn’t even apologise for the mix up sadly. Otherwise food was okay. Nothing special, but all edible. Very carb heavy. Chips, pasta, salad meat at ever meal. Breakfast usual English breakfast every day. Some days churros with chocolate dipping sauce which was the best!! A few people complaining but for what we paid extra for all inc I was satisfied. I never went hungry. Drinks, San Miguel lager, local spirits and soft drinks. Although I must say, never once did I feel the affects of the alcohol through my entire stay. However I saw them opening bottles of local spirit from scratch. But 1/2 cup measure of vodka should surely make me tipsy, especially after 6! Always plenty of sun loungers at our stay. Although we put our towels down before breakfast at 7.45 still always loads available by 9-10am. (May). The pool was always very, very cold. Was okay for a quick dip and out. Most people did complain about this but to be it’s not a complaining matter, it’s just one of those things. The parasols don’t have much UV protection. Still shadows on your body whilst under them and my husband still burnt a tad whilst under one. Entertainment for one night a week. Thursday. But well worth the wait as he was amazing. We THOROUGHLY enjoyed him. Such an amazing voice. Pool open 10am-6pm. Barriers and cones put out at other times. Bugs were a little bit of an issue in our room. We had drain flies in our bathroom. About 20 a day. Stuck to your body whilst showering was awful. Tiny little flies all over the bathroom. Also had 2 MASSIVE cockroaches over the week. It again, not avoidable but just be warned to not walk about in the dark in bare feet! Also the drinks machines you help yourself to in the restaurant, wines, beer and soft, if you was first to use them at meal times you were often greeted by 10 flies in your drink and about another 20 flew off. Restaurant have 3 different options for meal times which you have to choose from. Option 1: B 7.45-8.30, L 12.45-13.30, D 18.45-19.30. Option 2: B 8.45-9.30, L 13.45-14.30, D 19.45-20.30. Option 3: B 9.45-10.30, L 14.45-15.30, D 20.45-21.30. Small childrens pool had two quite concerning whirlpools where the drain/filter systems were at the bottom of the pool. That made me think the suction was maybe too strong and worried me for children with longer hair. Maybe I’m wrong but please take note if you take small children in there and weigh up yourself. But lastly, the staff again couldn’t of done more to accommodate each and every guest. Receptions staff, bar staff, pool staff, maintenance, maids. All fantastic. Maids always said good morning, changed towels every other day. Maintenance did as they did and plodded on each day. We had to complain that our air con wouldn’t work and the hotel manager went above and beyond to check daily it was still okay. She was dealing with a really difficult and abusive guest when we was checking in and dealt with them so calmly and friendly. When the guest was abusive and rude. Location, a steep hill to the strip. Hundreds of bars and restaurants down the front. Hill down to the front and hill up to the hotel. About 10 mins walk on the hill. Waiting staff always happy to help. Some chattier than others but all polite. And the life guard! He needs a pay rise! He literally NEVER stops!!! He does cleaning, greeting, pool duties, maintenance. The lot. He worked every day we was there for a week. He is a credit to the team. About 90% British guests and made some friends with some lovely people. (Shout out to Claire and Jasmine as I know you’ll be looking out for this!) All in all we had a great stay and would 100% recommend. My only complaint is the food label mix up as that could of ended very badly. All other things listed are not complaints just thinks got guests to be prepared for.

Good base but very poor all inclusive

May 2022 | cook_wright_bow

Arrived at 11am were told by reception not allowed to start the all inclusive nor get our room until 3. Once we had our bands we got sone lunch .. the food is dreadful… minimal choice. Pool bar snacks are bread roll, fruit and occasional ice cream. Music was clubland 90’s repeated on a loop day and night. We ate out every meal after that one meal and we are not fussy eaters by any means. The room was modem spacious and aclean but only big enough for 2 people. Staff were friendly and the pool lifeguards were very good ensuring the area was kept clean. They also removed towels of those morons who put them down on loungers then go out the whole day. We would come back purely based on the location as it’s a good base .. literally 5 minutes from all the bars/the strip/restaurants. Think the hotel should remove the all inclusive feature as it’s a big negative !!! On an evening the place was deserted there’s no atmosphere. The resort was bustling had a great vibe and we really had a great long weekend.

Not 4* hotel and definitely don’t book if you’re a fussy eater

We are nearing the end of our stay at Lanzarote Palm - I thought I’d write a review before we get home and busy life resumes… Overall I would rate this hotel no more that a 3* resort. The good bits: The staff are friendly, the communal areas are kept clean and tidy, the pool is a decent size (but really cold until you acclimatise), the bar menu for all inclusive drinks is fairly decent and the location is good and only short walk to the strip / beach / bars/cafes and shops. The rooms are dated but we had a really spacey room with a comfortable seating area, lovely bathroom (but mind the shower - can suddenly turn very hot without warning!) - TV has a selection of channels to get you by. All the rooms face onto the pool and it’s just a stumble distance if you just want to hang by the pool all day and pop back to your room. The bad bits: However the food is the worst I have ever had at a hotel. Having booked all inclusive for a week stay with a close friend I was expecting to have a few meals out max and spend most of the time eating at the hotel. We ended up eating our pretty much every other night and just snacking from the edible parts of the buffet. We actually dreaded mealtimes! We pretty much ate just the basics (toast/cereals/bread rolls) to get us by and had a more substantial meal or lunch out. Neither of us are fussy eaters but the hot food is just revolting and something to avoid! I didn’t think hotel food could be that bad. If you are veggie or vegan Expect pretty much no choice! I wouldn’t come back, really due to the food which is a shame because generally it is a nice hotel but definitely not 4*
