Hotel Puerto de Mogan THe Senses Collection

In a popular resort on the south-western coast of Gran Canaria, Hotel Puerto de Mogan is on the harbour front in Puerto de Mogan itself and steps from the beach. The hotel has a main outdoor pool and an adults only pool. There is also a poolside bar, so you can order a drink or snack and enjoy it on one of the sun terraces. Inside the hotel, you can relax in the spa, which has a indoor pool, whirlpool and a sauna, or book yourself in for a massage. At the buffet restaurant, you can enjoy your meals with views across the harbour and rocky hills. The shops, bars and restaurants of the resort centre are steps from the hotel, as is Sandy Playa de Mogan beach. This stretch of shore has clear waters for swimming and snorkelling and is popular with families. If you'd like to explore further afield, you can hire a car through the hotel. The 18-hole golf course at Anfi del Mar Tauro is a short drive away. You can also take a day trip to Puerto Rico for its Europa Center shopping mall, or to Las Palmas, the island's capital.

The centre of Puerto de Mogan is 50m from the hotel, as is Playa de Mogan. The town has narrow old streets lined with the traditional Canarian whitewashed and brightly painted buildings, and its many canals have given it the nickname 'Little Venice'. There's a choice of places to eat and drink around the harbour, and you can take a boat trip from here around the coast. It's 29km from Puerto de Mogan to the popular resort of Maspalomas, with its sandy beaches and dunes. There are high-end shops and a range of restaurants, and the promenade is lined with bars and cafés.

The buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are a poolside bar, which serves snacks as well as drinks. Just outside the hotel is a mini market for everyday essentials. If you'd like to dine out, the restaurants of Puerto de Mogan are a short stroll away.

The hotel has one pool for children.

The superior apartments have the option to use the facilities at the hotel, the standard apartments don't have that option. The apartments have their own pool area next to the apartment block.

Fantastic Hotel!! Amazing staff!!

May 2022 | chilledr2021

Me and my wife visited this hotel for a week, starting the 22nd April and what a lovely hotel it is. I have read the reviews and cannot believe some of them!! We checked in on the Friday night at about 10.30ish, on our arrival Mike on the reception was so helpful and such a friendly guy, even bringing us a meal each to our room with a complimentary bottle of wine, which was excellent. Our room was 221 and had a balcony overlooking the beautiful marina, which was stunning, with a large collection of bars and restaurants below. The room was perfect, admittedly the shower room was a bit dated but clean with a lovely strong power shower, plenty of wardrobe and storage room and a safe, coffee maker, flat screen TV, etc everything you need, with clean towels everyday and clean sheets every other. We sat out on the balcony most days after visiting the pool, bars, beach or generally walking around this pretty and spotless resort to chill and relax. Breakfast was brilliant, everything was there in a buffet style from continental to a lovely full English, the staff in the bar were excellent, friendly and always ready to help with a smile. The pool was spotless, the loungers were plentyful, and we hired one of the 9 beds overlooking the sea and beach, just stunning! The rooftop terrace was amazing, what a perfect suntrap! Evening meal was superb, everything you could ask for, food was amazing, don't listen to reviews saying no choice or bland food, it had everything and the food and desserts were delicious! Thankyou to all the chefs and staff that made our stay amazing at a beautiful hotel that had the most incredible views overlooking the ocean, amazing, a prime position for any hotel! Mogan is nicknamed ' little Venice ' it was such a pretty place, with bars and restaurants of all types, spoilt for choice. I would highly recommend the Puerto de Mogan hotel to anyone lookin for a chilled holiday, where you can relax, unwind and watch the world go by! Thanks Mike for sorting us out and for the friendly and excellent welcome you gave us A perfect hotel in a perfect setting!! ☀️☀️☀️

Excellent location and 6th visit.

This is our sixth time at the hotel and love it here. You can't beat the position and sitting by the pool the view is different every day. Yes the hotel is a little dated and the food not alacarte but we are in Spain so the plumbing is a little sensitive and we have had a pandemic. The staff have always be fab, and nothing is ever a problem and they try and resolve things if possible, but they only have approx 60 rooms, so sometimes it isn't possible to change. Plus I am Coeliac, but chefs good and run through what I can have or can't. If you like big brand hotels, your regulation 43m2 room, with power shower, 300 channel TV, and foreign food, then maybe spend alot more and go up the valleys, but don't moan if you have to walk everywhere. For us we want to unwind and watch the world go by which we do here, and unfortunately have it all to do again next week as here for two weeks, and already booked for next year. Ps never had an issue with sunbeds or towels but we always nice to the staff.

Perfect second visit

We have just returned from a week celebrating a birthday. The hotel is perfectly placed right in the marina. Rooms on one side have a sea view, on the other side a marina view. Our room was huge with sofa and coffee table, one proper balcony and one Juliette balcony. Fridge in room and tea and coffee making facility too. The room was cleaned daily, towels changed daily and beds every other day. Complimentary products in bathroom. The hotel overall was very clean. The bed was huge but a tad too firm for me. The roof terrace has sunbeds with stunning views. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool and you can't reserve beds for hours and go missing as towels will be removed. I wish more hotels adopted this practice. The restaurant is right next to the sea so amazing views while you eat. The best bit of this hotel is the food. It is equal to many 5* hotels I've been too. Absolutely massive choice of hot and cold options at breakfast and dinner. Huge prawns every night! The chefs should be really commended and praised for the range offered and all extremely tasty. Already thinking about a winter return to this little gem.
