General Description: Welcome to the Tara Bungalows in Maspalomas. The pebble stone and sandy beach is 2 km from the hotel and the town of Playa Del Ingles is 5 km away. To make your stay more comfortable a mini market and a reception are available. The staff in this hotel speaks German, English and Spanish. The hotel features a fresh water swimming pool with a separate children's pool. A poolside bar is on site at the hotel where guests can unwind with a drink. Sunshades and sunbeds are available free of charge at the pool. The hotel is within easy reach of shops, supermarkets, taxi stands and bus stops. Distance from the hotel to: Holiday Word (1 km), disco (3 km) and airport LPA (36 km). Vehicles may be parked in the parking lot. Amenities: For convenience the following services are offered: maid service. Reception hours: 08:00 - 20:30. Sport and Leisure: Golfers have the opportunity to play at the nearest golf course which is 2 km from the hotel. Additional Information: Payment facilities include Visa Card and Euro/Master Card. Additional fees may apply for certain facilities, amenities or activities. The reception hours at Bungalows Tara will from 8:00 to 18:00 as of 07/09 until 08/03/14. A week away in early March

Really great, small and quiet site of well presented bungalows. Staff were amazing, couldn't do more to help. There is a small supermarket attached to the reception area and also a pool bar. Reception staff were amazing. The bar tender was brilliant and always made us laugh and smile She was another Ray of sunshine in an already sunny environment. The location was great for the beach and local and island wide bus services. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a two week very needed holiday. After a terrible year, it was nice to get away. Maspalomas/Melonares now seems to be 90% German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and 10% British. We've been to the island seven times now, but don't think we'll be returning. Maspalomas seems to have lost its soul. Run down Faro 11, one bar and two restaurants (supermarket of course), so a walk down to the lighthouse for food. GC seems to be now only interested in the 90% and seemed to put us last. Very disappointing. Bungalows Tara was basic, but thats what we like. Clean, tidy with very nice staff. No kettle unfortunately and our two ring hob didn't work. The beds need sorting though. I slept on the couch as my bed made such a noise when I moved, that it woke both hubby and I. The complex was quiet and well maintained. Tara I would recommend - Maspalomas - maybe not. P.S. the lady at the pool bar (Peta I think?) was such a lovely lady, she is an asset.

No complaints but won't return

Bungalows are lovely. Got almost everything you need - no kettle (we got one on request) and no microwave. Very clean. Beds are very uncomfortable. Each bungalow has it's own lovely patio (with loungers and furniture) and own garden. The pool is lovely. Reception staff are very helpful. Rosie the cleaner is very friendly. A courtesy bus twice each day will take you to/bring you back from the beach. It was a Nice gesture of the complex to leave a bottle of cava in the fridge for guests arrival. However, as we arrived at 11pm what we needed was water... We had to go traipsing to find a vending machine to get some water. I think it would be better (and likely cheaper for the company) if the cava was swapped for a bottle of water. The reason I won't return is, there is absolutely nothing near you. No bars or restaurants, every night was a taxi to the lighthouse area or to the Yumbo Center. The beach is lovely , it's approximately 1.5mikes walk and a nice walk. We got a local bus to San Augustin. That's a lovely wee place with a beautiful beach, nice for a day out.
