Elba Castillo San Jorge y Antigua Suite Hotel

Elba Castillo San Jorge y Antigua Suite Hotel is a family-friendly hotel in Caleta de Fuste, on Fuerteventura's east coast. It's a short walk to the center of the resort, where you'll find a boat lined harbor and amusement arcades, as well as waterfront restaurants and bars. The sandy beach of Playa del Castillo, is also a short walk away. It overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the distant Moroccan shore. The beach's shallow waters are popular for swimming and paddling. You'll find typical Canarian details in the design of the hotel, including arched doorways, terracotta floor tiles and local art on the walls. The hotel's buildings are centered around the pool areas. There are two outdoor swimming pools, surrounded by sea-view sundecks that are dotted with palm trees, as well as two pools for kids. When you fancy something to eat and drink you'll have a variety of options, with a restaurant and three bars to choose from. The hotel also serves a daily afternoon tea, with pastries, cakes and hot drinks. The restaurant has floor-to-ceiling windows with views across the pool to the ocean. At Elba Castillo San Jorge y Antigua Suite Hotel, you can unwind with a friendly game of table tennis or pool. If you fancy exploring, you can hire a car and discover attractions across Fuerteventura, including the famous sand dunes at the Las Dunas National Park. Or you can take a day trip to Corralejo, with its narrow streets, traditional fishermen's cottages and ancient harbor. From here, you can take the boat to Isla de Lobas, where you can hike through a nature reserve and dine on freshly caught seafood at a waterfront cafÈ.

Castillo de Antigua is 700m from the sandy shores of Playa del Castillo, which forms part of a horseshoe-shaped bay. It's 500m to the center of Caleta de Fuste, where you can shop for souvenirs at the local markets. You'll find beach bars and café's along the waterfront promenade, and you can take a boat trip or diving lesson at the harbor. It's 8km north up the coast from the hotel to Fuerteventura's capital, Puerto del Rosario. It has traditional Canarian whitewashed houses, a contemporary shopping center, outdoor art installations and two sandy beaches. You can explore the historic Old Town, where you can enjoy local specialties at the many restaurants, café's and bars. Further afield, it's a 46km drive to the seaside resort of Corralejo, where you'll find a lively waterpark with slides and whirlpools. You'll also be able to get the boat to the island of Lanzarote, with its sandy beaches, volcanic national park and salt flats.

At Castillo de Antigua, you can dine at the buffet restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel has an English-themed bar and two poolside bars. They serve local alcoholic drinks, along with bottled water and soft drinks. You can also get sweet treats at the ice cream trolley.

Children aged 4-12 can enjoy activities at the kids' club. There's also a kids' disco and a playground where they can burn off energy.

The beautiful outdoor area of Castillo de Antigua comprises two pools, two kids' pools, and a sun terrace with sun-loungers and parasols.

Rooms at Castillo de Antigua are modern and bright, with doors leading onto a balcony or terrace. They all have Wi-Fi, satellite TV and a fridge.

A fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Our stay was extended due to positive covid test and the staff couldn’t do enough to assist us in every way. No complaints about the food there was an exceptional dinner on both Christmas night and Hogmanay.

Another fabulous stay …

Another fabulous stay at Castillo San Jorge, an annual treat for my wife and I !! Staff remain friendly and patient, reception never busy. We were allocated a great 1 bed sea view apartment, spacious and clean, no issues, cleaned daily, sun in the balcony until 530pm Always plenty of sun beds around both pools although you still needed to be down at 830am to ‘reserve’ if you wanted to be next to the pool … we didn’t! I bet it’s interesting in the summer holidays … As mentioned in my previous reviews we always go SC so we can eat out at 7 different restaurants each evening and enjoy a cooked brekkie at our new favourite place .. The Blues Bar €9 for 2 inc coffee !! We’ll be back again next year and we’re already counting down the days !!! ☀️☀️☀️☀️
