Sol Luna Bay is an All Inclusive hotel on Bulgaria's Black Sea coastline. The hotel sits on a sandy beach which gently slopes into shallow waters. During your stay, you'll be a short drive from the centre of Obzor, a small, laid-back town with a backdrop of the nearby mountains. The hotel's pool area sits at the edge of the resort close to the sands, and offers views out to sea. There are two swimming pools, one shallow enough for the children to play in. The kids can also spend hours in the hotel's water park which features various slides and twisting shoots. While the kids are kept entertained, adults can take part in aqua aerobics, or spend some time unwinding in the hotel's spa. There are multiple bars on the hotel grounds where you can indulge in drinks and snacks throughout the day. In the evening you can choose between the hotel's restaurants which each offer different cuisines. One of the restaurants provides outdoor seating on the hotel terrace, where you can enjoy uninterrupted views out to sea. Dinner can be followed by evening entertainment organised by Sol Luna Bay, and drinks in the jazz bar which stays open until late.
Obzor, Sol Luna Bay's nearest centre, is 2.5km from the hotel. The town has a mix of historic buildings and modern-day restaurants and taverns. There's a piazza at its centre where you'll find a circular fountain and bars dotted around the pavements. There are markets here, selling local souvenirs for you to take back home. For day trips, you could head to the popular resort of Sunny Beach, 36km away, for its child-friendly attractions. If you'd like to see more of Bulgaria's coastline, you could head 14km to Irakli, one of the country's wild, non-developed sandy beaches.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is available in the hotel's international buffet restaurant. Dinner is also available in the hotel's other buffet restaurants which serve traditional Bulgarian and Italian dishes. Sol Luna Bay has a total of six bars including a poolside bar and a snack bar.
Children aged 4-14 years can get involved with the hotel-run kids' club. Other activities on offer include beach volleyball and table tennis. There's also a Teen club.
The rooms at Sol Luna Bay have air conditioning, a phone, Wi-Fi and a TV. They also have a minibar at an additional cost.

Beautiful Hotel, Excellent Holiday
We have been to Bulgaria 6 times and visited this hotel twice, each time we have had a lovely experience. You literally walk out of the hotel onto the beach which is beautiful. This hotel is probably the one by which I measure all other hotels. There are plenty of beds available both on the beach and around the pool. The food is excellent there is a panini bar and a snack bar at the beach as well as the restaurant so always a great choice. Snacks are also available in the pool bar and lobby bar. We had dinner at the Bulgarian restaurant one evening and it was lovely. There are loads of cocktails and mocktails to choose from and sparkling wine is included in the AI. The bar staff are really nice, especially in the lobby bar, and always happy to help me practice my Bulgarian :-) The Jazz Bar above the lobby is a very chilled place to spend the late evening and there was live music there some nights. The terrace below has a fantastic sea view. The hotel is mainly geared towards families, there is a lot for young children and also teenagers, but there is something for everyone of all ages. (If you go to the waterpark don't miss the WWII bunker in the middle. A strange location but very interesting.) If you choose this hotel for your holiday you really can't go wrong. It's beautiful. Thank you for another lovely holiday.
A great week away
We have just returned from a week away and the only regret we have is that we didn't stay longer. We have been on an all-inclusive holiday before, so I didn't have super high expectations as the kids enjoyed it but Sol Luna Bay far exceeded them. The hotel is vast so it's amazing how clean it is. If you look carefully, you will see staff constantly clearing away rubbish but they're not intrusive and very friendly. The restaurant gets busy at dinner time and there can be a small queue for the freshly cooked food at peak time, but it's always worth the few minutes wait. The food was delicious, which is was a pleasant surprise considering the quantity of food being cooked. As soon as people have finished eating and leave a table, it's cleared, cleaned and layed ready for the next diners. Therefore there are always plenty of tables to sit at. From experience, dinner at an all-inclusive was probably what I was looking forward to the least - the scramble to get a table, the barging to get to the food queue. Dinner at Sol Luna Bay was the complete opposite. We dined at various different times and although some periods are busier than others, it was still always a pleasant experience. There is always plenty of food so no scramble, barging or stress! The pool is deep with no shallow end. People do annoyingly leave their towels on sun loungers but we always managed to find at least one. There is a life guard patrolling from 9-6 (I think?). The entertainment team put on a host of activities throughout the day, some of which were in the pool, which the kids dabbled in and enjoyed. The white sandy beach was lovely and clean. There are lots of sun loungers and we were always able to find at least two together.. Again, staff walked around picking up rubbish and empty drinking cups from tables throughout the day keeping the beach clean. The sea was fairly rough on one of the days we were there but calmer on the others. There is a life guard on the beach actively blowing his whistle to keep people safe. The water park was great fun. My 6 year old can't always go on things with height restrictions but she was able to go down all the slides with hubby. I saw some small children go down the slides on their own and an adult would wait for them to plop out at the end, so she would've been able to if she wanted. The kids enjoyed the toasted panini's and soft cream. The Italian restaurant was delicious and nice to get away from the crowds too. Our room was lovely and spacious. The kids were in a separate bedroom with a closing door so we didn't disturb them when they went to bed. We had a sea view and loved sitting on the balcony listening to the waves. There is a mini disco every night at 8:30pm which the kids enjoyed a couple of nights. The entertainment team are friendly, enthusiastic and good fun. My daughter had a birthday whilst we were there too. We didn't tell anyone as she would've embarrassed at the attention. But they'd come into our room early evening and left a bottle of "bubbly", a box of sweet treats and a note for her. A really nice touch, thank you! And thank you for a fantastic week!
Our second stay even better than the first
It was a great debate whether to return to a hotel we already visited or not. I was afraid it might get less good or will be boring. But NO! We arrived at noon, we were warmly welcomed. We got our bracelets, but the room was not ready yet. Went to the beach straight. Got hungry and went to the restaurant to get lunch. People are not allowed to enter in bathing suits, which is understandable. After lunch, we got our room. Got into the elevator and was surprised to see that it is a panorama elevator. Our room was on the sixth floor, park view. The last time we stayed in Sol Luna Bay, we got a sea view room which is better in my opinion. You can hear the sea waving from the comfort of your bed. Amazing! This current room was very hot, we had the AC on 24/7. The other room had better doors, beacuse we didn't hear the elevator even though we stayed exactly near it. Neither did we hear people crossing the corridor. Everything was clean, the furniture in good shape, and a minibar full of snacks. Our maid did a great job before our arrival, we only asked for one cleaning during the week, on the second day (change of towels, moping) but she came back on day 4th and changed out sheets and made a more thorough cleaning. One tip would be to let her in for a quick clean-up on the penultimate day so she can check the minibar. We didn't let her in, so we had to wait 20 minutes or so at the checkout. Free use of luggage room is available on the day of arrival or leaving. On the balcony are one plastic table and two plastic chairs. Those don't look that great in a 4-star hotel. For example, its sister hotel, Melia from Sunny beach has rattan tables and chairs which look way better. Appreciated the fact that they put water dispensers on every corner of the corridor. From 11 pm to 9 am only coffee was available, which was also highly appreciated by me. Another fact that they improved is that they open the gym sooner, at 6 am, which is great for people like me, who like to watch the sunrise and have a workout afterward. Sunbeds were available even at 10 am. Really liked all the fitness programs they offered. Every day I participated in two workouts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon: Kangoo jumps (new), yoga, keep fit, freestyler, stretch, and step aerobics (best of all). The animation team is dope. They do a really good job making our holidays interesting. Children loved them a lot. Highly recommend this hotel for families with children. Italian and Bulgarian restaurants work only at dinner time, registration is needed. We signed up for an Italian dinner, which was great. The food was delicious, and it had a cozy environment having just a few families around (not every guest of the hotel). Was lucky to be there at a special yoga event (registration needed) where we could taste healthy food and had a very nice sunset yoga session. We were given ice-cold towels washed with lavender oil to put on any part of our body. Its scent was relaxing. Another highlight of our stay was the Friday night dinner where specifically delicious food was served for example smoked salmon, chicken breast (first time in a week), various fruits, and desserts. When we entered the restaurant, special drinks were offered, mint champagne for adults and some kind of mint mocktail for children. By the way, 20+ cocktails were available at the pool bar or lobby bar. They also offered a few variants of coffee. After the Friday night dinner, there was a Chill out party on the beach in the sand with great music and fireworks. An afterparty was organized in the Jazz bar (also new). The location of the hotel is the best. It is on the beach, a few steps from the sea. This is the best hotel we stayed in Bulgaria (we visited it 5 times already). There are souvenirs and clothes and grocery shops, exchange in the hotel. If you need a calm stay, and don't want to leave the hotel, this is your place. We went for a walk in downtown Obzor but didn't see anything interesting really. On our last day, after checking out we visited Cape Sveti Atanas which is 5 minutes drive away and offers a breathtaking view of the Black Sea. It is worth visiting it.
