the Bedford is a slightly tired hotel, but much better than most of the alternatives in the budget price range, which it can often be found at. (Occasionally, when there's a big event in Brussels the rate shoots up enormously). Rooms are fine - nothing exceptional, though the pillow son my single bed were very comfortable, but if the rate includes the breakfast buffet, that can be a real bargain. The buffet is excellent with fruit, pastries, yogurt, cheeses, smoked salmon, cold meats, eggs, etc., and a reason for choosing the Bedford. The location is good - about 15 minutes from Midi-Sud station on foot (for Eurostar) through a slightly edgy area, and just over 10 from the Grand Place, 5 from the Mannekin-Pis.

Stayed twice this week. Price and location (its really central and in an interesting area for walking around or eating out) are very attractive and the service was excellent both times. I arrived at noon one day expecting to leave my luggage and return at 15.00 but the staff found a room for me right away which I appreciated. Small niggle: wifi seemed sporadic one day.

Never take road facing rooms, there is NO soundproofing. Also, very little soundproofing amongst rooms make the stay all the more uncomfortable as you can even hear whispers from the next room. Room size is small.Beds are extremely uncomfortable as they have joined two twin beds to make a double and the mattresses need replacement. Dated property in dire need of renovation. Just the location is good
