Great holiday for any range in this hotel, Tunisia!
Although, me and my friend didn't get there until 1am. The reception staff were very helpful, as was our Thomas Cook rep. The rooms were standard but were nice, good size wardrobe, bath/shower, balcony and a tv. The room was cleaned daily and nothing was stolen from our stuff! Being girls we tend to make a bit of a mess whilst getting ready, (leaving makeup wipes on the side, bla bla bla) the bin was changed everyday, so was the ashtray and our beds were made daily.
The only thing we wasn't keen on was having to sit where we were told to! But we got on well with who we sat with so we wasn't too fussed after. The food was a buffet and a lot of it was the same on different days but was lovely! There was wifi in the lobby area but a bit disappointed that it didn't work upstairs in our room or on the other side of the pool area.
The workers were lovely although we did kind of get pestered about doing activities.. But we did the pirate ship and it was totally worth it!! The pool was lovely and the beach view was stunning! The entertainment at night was good although they don't get enough credit for what they do! They do a lot of things in during the day to keep everyone occupied too which was good and a lot of fun too! On our last day we went on the jet skis and it was ace!
DEFFO recommend this hotel! Went on the 1st September 2014 and come back yesterday, and already looking for flights for January and for longer than a week this time!

Absolutely Loved it!
It was so great this hotel, I have only been back in England little over 12 hours since returning from Tunisia and I have to spread the word about this place. We were a pretty big group, there were 9 of us, 4 adults and 5 children and all the staff tried really hard to make our holiday the best it could be. But also, we became good friends with a lot of the staff there and every time I saw them I would greet them and we'd have a little laugh. Honestly, I have never been to a hotel where I have physically become good friends with the staff - I hugged a number of them before we left!
I brought one of the Animation Tunisia T-Shirts and I asked my pal, Midou who was selling them if he could get himself and the Animation team to sign my t-shirt while I was away on the quad bikes - which he gladly did! Few days later they did it again for my little sister (no extra cost for any of that mind you). If any of you guys read this I hope you remember me because I'll be coming back next year! (There are many faces there that I already miss and I haven't been in England a day yet).
I have to say though, there were a few people that complained about a couple of things but we had no idea why! Myself, an my father noticed though they didn't treat the staff with any respect an ignored them most of the time. Which is their fault, because waiters, the Animation team, the camel/quad/pirate ship/water sports guys are the nicest people you could ever meet, and you could have a laugh with them. On our last day some come up to us about three times to say good bye and say they'll miss us and everything! They really were true sweet hearts. I went LA earlier on in the year and didn't get treated this good!
There is plenty of pool space! Got three pools at Dar Khayam alone, the main one, the kiddie one an the indoor one (which was closed while I was there - din't bother us though). But you can also go to the sister hotel Omar Khayam where they got two more pools! But also the water slides! Granted I'm not a water slide person but the rest of my family had a great time on them, telling ya we got some cracking shots on those! Go down them on a lylo or any inflatable and you skid across the water like a skipping stone. Hilarious!
There is always something you can do! If you don't just want to sit by the pool all day you've got plenty stuff going on - you've obviously got your trips and experiences like the quads (which we did twice!), the camels (thought was overrated and didn't enjoy as much) but you've also got the spa, the beach on the door step with all the water sports (with pedalos and kyaks are free!) but also the Animation has things going on at the hotel and at the beach, like football, netball, water polo, archery and little games followed by a dance and they do a lot more for the kids as well - especially Zizo! He tries very hard for the kids, well they all do but he is the main entertainer for the kids.
There was a show every night on the outside stage, (there was also an indoor stage in case of rain etc), granted more could be done to improve the shows but they were still good and it is very clear the Animation team work very hard on those shows. I learnt basic salsa (I think it's the salsa) from those guys! Got up and danced a few times (albeit after a few cocktails) but it was great fun.
I recommend this hotel, I seriously do! I'm thinking about going next year! Either with friends or another side of the family, because it really is a great hotel, the staff are brilliant (if you didn't get that already), the restaurant was good (there was a selection of food, Tunisian specialities but also stuff we all recognise. Best Chicken and Mushroom pie of my life by the way! Mwah!), beach is literally just there, great view of the sea, a lot to do. All round great five star experience! Definitely going back to see my friends!
(To my buddies, you guys better still be there when I go back next year! and you better remember me! Haha ) --- Little Sammy.

fantastic holiday at the Dar Khayam
A big thank you to Anthony the hotel manager and all the staff at the Dar Khayam for a fantastic holiday, the entertainment team were brilliant, I had a birthday whilst there and Anthony arranged flowers at my table for the evening meal and supplied a Birthday Cake which the staff brought to the table and sang Happy Birthday to me, would recommend the hotel as suitable for all ages as the kids entertainment was also fantastic, coco the clown rounded up the kids every night with the chants of "Coco Mini Disco" the pool and bar areas are great.

Dar Khayam Not Great
arrived at resort about 2 am only to find the key for the room would not open the door. As the day was a Sunday they could not get a key replacement, so every time we needed to get into the room we had to go to reception for somebody to let us in until Monday when they could get a key cut. when we got into the room it was not the cleanest of rooms i have ever been in and needed updating. The Food was very average and often cold and pretty much the same for the whole weeks stay. Thomas Cook hotel rep was very good but the rest seemed like they were on holiday, had to go looking for them in the airport on arrival in Endifina as one was sitting down and the other talking to what seemed like locals(very poor service).
