this was the perfect holiday that my friend and i were after, truly relaxing with everything we wanted available on site.
from arriving at the airport it was noted how helpful Thomas Cook staff were and they directed us to our waiting transfer coaches. the journey to the hotel was comfortable and enabled us to have a little look at the area we were travelling in. on arriving at the hotel we were not expecting to have our room straight away however it was all clean and ready for us to move in. the room was very spacious and extremely clean, with the room then being cleaned 3x a week. there was a slight problem with the sewage system when we arrived which resulted in our room smelling for a couple of days but when mentioned to our rep this was sorted by the time we had returned to our room. our room overlooked the pool and the sea which was a lovely view, the balcony was big enough to be able to lay down and sunbathe. we enjoyed a nice walk of approx 20 minutes into the main town where there was a choice of gift shops and another beach.
the Pool was really clean and nicely refreshing to jump into. although we only went to the beach a couple of times there was the opportunity to hire a bed and parasol for 5 euro's each which we did, the beach inst very sandy but is not uncomfortable to walk on. the pool and beach side snacks were really nice and although very full from our meals we managed to squash in space for nachos every day. there was a good choice of buffet food with an excellent range of deserts. the drinks were available all day and there was enough to suit everyone tastes.
My friend has a disability and we found the layout of the hotel easy to access and the use of the lifts was excellent and really helped.
there was an excellent choice of trips that could be booked through our rep and we decided to do the sunset sensation, this is definitely a must do thing for all ages.
This is definitely a place I am hoping to revisit next year.

We had a great time, the weather was immense, the two pools were great, the kids spent a lot of the day's in them. The food and service were great and the rooms were clean. No real complaints at all. The entertainment was, at times, hits and miss- the girls were catering to the tastes of three separate countries so it was fine when this is taken into account. There was not a huge variety in terms of the entertainment and it was geared pretty squarely at the children. The girls who did the entertainment did a fantastic job and were clearly working very hard.
The cocktails are pretty bad but I guess they are cocktails and, as such you will love or hate them. The measure that were given for the spirits were good, and since it was all inclusive, there was always one there when it was needed. Food simillarly was good with copious amounts and a good variery. The cold food section particularly was very good.

hotel good location for portinax
hotel overall was of a high standard but felt let down with childrens clubs. I appreciate it was the end of the season but we didnt leave till the Saturday and everything was packed up on the Friday morning. Although mixed nationality felt the entertainment was more for the German guest and this included the childrens sort of disco which was more of a sing along to children songs. Previously our family holidays have been with Thomson which we had a welcome meeting on our arrival. although we were given a contact number there was no personal touch even the children enterainers didnt great the children while on the beach the Greco hotel came and spoke to our children even though they had Paradise Beach identity bracelets. Overall good hotel but not for children if you are British maybe older ones are fine on their own but if you have younger children then no, especially as the pool was so cold they needed other things to do. may be different during the busy season

A good value break for the money we paid. Accomodation was good, and very clean. Food was adequate, even my fussy 9 year old never went hungry, but very repetative. Staff could have been a bit more friendly but please be aware that this hotel is used by lots of Germans, we were one of only 4 english speaking families in the whole hotel. Portinax is a lovely little place but do not book if you are looking for any action, it's a sleepy little place. Overall we had an excellent relaxed holiday and even got great weather for October.
