3* Hotel in beautiful location but has 4* sister hotel adjoining-so seems to have an identity problem - with shared outside areas where entertainment is shared at night - no separation with a wall or steps but we were told that it is preferred that the use of facilities of the hotels were kept separate !!! Meaning you sat on your side of the area it seems and there were even signs by pools with the name of the hotel it was for the use of. Yet an indoor pool and gym etc was shared. We were all inclusive- bar staff blatantly served the paying half board and b& b guests and kept all inclusive waiting. Food was the same lunch time and evening - no light snacks available - except at the pool bar at an extra charge. When it is hot you do not always want to go into a restaurant and have a meal - a snack would suffice.

This was our first stay in Crete and we didn't really know what to expect. Our group was there for one week all-inclusive and the end of May. It was amazing. The weather was excellent. The hotel was clean and well maintained. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a large selection of food that catered for all tastes. Beach loungers were included. Entertainment was provided at night in the main bar area ranging from music to local dancing demos to a magician for the kids. There are 2 hotels in the complex, however apart from a separate pool and a few loungers you would never know the difference. The complex is towards the outer edge of the resort, but 20-25 minutes will walk you into the main town. (Taxis are normally at the front door of the complex, take about 2 mins and cost about 5 euro). The roads are quite flat making it quite an enjoyable walk. We had an excellent holiday, no bad points at all and we would all definitely go back.

Enjoyed a great week at the Pearl Beach the staff were wonderful nothing was too much trouble. We had half board and did eat at the hotel every evening the buffet meals had plenty of choice and well presented. All areas were very clean. Evening entertainment was a bonus. Will be returning to this hotel in the next few years.

We very much wanted to enjoy this holiday not least because the staff at the hotel were friendly, helpful and informative. We often had lunch at the hotel, the food and service was excellent and good value by comparison with nearby restaurants. The entertainment in the evening was fun which was a good job as there was no avoiding it, no chance of retiring before about 23.30 because of the noise. The very real downside was the 3 or 4 days and sleepless nights that it took for our necks and spines to adjust to hard beds and in particular, rock hard pillows. None of us could get comfy. It was also clear that we were 2nd class guests compared to those in the adjacent hotel (politely but firmly, we were escorted from their sunbeds on one occasion). We also suffered from a taxi strike and with the temperature and humidity remaining high in the evenings, the fact that the hotel is some distance from the resort centre (as described in the brochure) became a key negative. We were just unlucky in that respect but with a partially disabled daughter who could not walk the necessary distance, it left a sour taste in terms of going back to Greece.
