Thomson Dream Cruise Liner
Set sail in signature splendour aboard the Thomson Dream, the largest ship in the Thomson Cruises' fleet.
Regarded by Thomson as its new flagship vessel, the Thomson Dream is the biggest and most modern ship in the holiday operator’s fleet. Having enjoyed a full refurbishment in 2002, the ship offers plenty of space and brilliant facilities, and is a great option for families looking to enjoy the cruise experience on a more modest budget.
The Thomson Dream specialises in Mediterranean itineraries, but does offer voyages as far ashore as North Africa and the tropical islands of the Caribbean.
One of our favourites of the Mediterranean cruises is the seven night ‘Highlights of the Mediterranean’ itinerary, which includes some of Europe’s finest cities amongst its ports of call. The Thomson Dream sets sail from Palma on the sunny island of Majorca before stopping at Corsica, Rome, Florence & Pisa, St Tropez & Cannes, and Barcelona before coming full circle to Palma. Why not end your adventure with a chill out week on the beach in Majorca in order to let the incredible journey you have just made really sink in.
To soak up some winter sunshine, opt for the seven day ‘Caribbean Delights’ cruise, which calls at Barbados, Granada, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire, giving passengers the opportunity to experience the incredible cultural diversity of these white sand paradises. Don’t miss out on some of the incredible seafood available at the world-class resorts of Barbados – there is a reason why A-listers continue to head back year after year!
The Thomson Dream includes all of the facilities and amenities you would expect from a modern cruise liner - a variety of bars and restaurants, spa and fitness facilities and shops, in addition to a range of evening entertainment options. There is a health centre to provide peace of mind that you will be looked after throughout your cruise getaway, and internet access for those who want to stay connected to what’s going on at home.
With two swimming pools and whirlpools to choose from, the Thomson Dream provides plenty of space to enjoy the sunshine on your cruise holidays. Kids will be kept occupied from dawn until dusk with the huge variety of activities put on by the Thomson Kid’s Club.
This of course leaves plenty of time for mums and dads to kick back and relax, taking advantage of the indulgent treatments on offer in the onboard spa, or getting active on the tennis, basketball or volleyball courts.
The beauty salon and fitness centre will ensure that you are able to stay looking at your best throughout your stay.
As the sun goes down, there are a number of bars in which to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple before heading to one of the ship’s restaurants for dinner. After dark, enjoy West End-style musicals and live comedy in the Broadway show lounge, or watch cabaret and live bands in the Medusa Lounge. The Thomson Dream’s dance floor can be found at The Water’s Edge, and those who enjoy a flutter can have a go on the tables at the casino.
The Thomson Dream provides a relaxed and informal atmosphere in which to experience the excitement of a cruise. Wake up in a different destination each morning, and see the world from the comfort of your own cabin - without breaking the bank - for a truly magical getaway.
Across the Princess Cruises fleet guests are afforded the option of choosing from traditional, casual, anytime and speciality dining. Traditional cruise holiday dining means you are served at the same seats, at the same time by the same waiting team at every visit. Anytime and casual dining provide more flexibility, allowing guests to choose what they eat and when – brilliant if you prefer your cruising holiday to be schedule-free. Speciality dining is provided by Sabatini’s Italian restaurant and the Bayou Café and Grill – but be sure you book in advance. Food courts, fast food, buffets and ten course blow outs; whatever tickles your taste buds you’ll find it in abundance onboard the Island Princess.
With four restaurants to choose from, there are plenty of options to keep your taste buds tingling for the duration of your cruise holidays aboard the Thomson Dream. The Sirens restaurant provides the perfect setting for that special occasion, with intimate booths for two available to provide added romance. The Lido Restaurant is a more informal setting, serving help-yourself buffets, with themed nights taking place several times a week. During the day, the Terrace is host to tasty BBQs and is the place to head for to enjoy pizzas and salads in the sunshine during days spent at sea.
The Thomson Dream has been designed with a variety of accommodation options to suit any pocket, from opulent Grand Suites to stylish standard cabins. The Grand Suites and Deluxe Cabins qualify passengers to enjoy Thomson’s Premier Cruise experience. This entails express check-in services and luggage delivery, in addition to a complimentary pressing service and breakfast in bed option. However, even the standard cabins include all of the comforts and amenities guests would expect from a Thomson holiday. There is also the option of paying a little extra and choosing the location of your cabin, which means you can be as close to or far away from the action as you please!
