Why choose Sun Princess?

For more than 40 years Princess Cruises have been renowned for carefully planned itineraries and spectacular ships. Whilst on board a Princess ship, passengers are made to feel welcome and relaxed by friendly officers and crew, who have an unrivalled knowledge of cruise destinations. The Sun Princess offers the best of both worlds - boasting a wide range of spacious public rooms, yet still retaining an intimate atmosphere.

Destinations and itineraries

The Sun Princess offers a range of voyages in New Zealand and Down Under, taking in the unique and beautiful scenery that can only be found in these parts of the world. One popular 14-day New Zealand cruise in October sees the Sun Princess set sail from Sydney to visit Bay of Islands, Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Ankara and Port Chalmers, before visiting the stunning Fjordland National Park.

The Sun Princess now also offers a full season of Japan-based cruises, visiting the country's most intriguing ports and offering a distinctly Asian flair. Passengers can admire the unparalleled beauty of the Far East at their leisure, soaking up culture and history by day and enjoying the onboard entertainment by night. In April, the Sun Princess resides in one of two homeports, Kobe and Otaru. An 11-day Ryukyu Islands and Taiwan Cruise in April sees the Sun Princess voyage the Far East, calling at Amami Oshima, Naha, Ishigaki and Hualien, before returning to Kobe.

The Sun Princess is a great choice for those looking for modern facilities set against the elegant design and ambience of a small ship. The wide range of children’s activities makes the Sun Princess the perfect ship for families of all ages, whilst the exotic itineraries and excellent onboard are ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway.

The Sun Princess offers one of the highest percentages of balcony staterooms in the industry, from which guests can admire exotic destinations in the comfort of their own room. The ship has also been updated with modern luxury amenities and popular on-board venues. The elegant Sun Princess has a wide range of spacious public rooms, organized around a main lobby. The four-deck high atrium lobby, decorated with light woods, provides a welcoming feeling of space to the ship’s interiors and ensures endless sunshine from sun rise to sun set. After dinner, guests can enjoy a drink in Rendezvous, the Ship’s intimate wine bar, or head to Shooting Stars for some music and late-night dancing courtesy of a state of the art sound and lighting system.

Out of the 1011 cabins on board, over one third are located on the decks and 40% have a private balcony. The well-lit cabins are elegantly finished and equipped with endless amenities and ample storage space. For added luxury, suites include large balconies with dining tables and loungers, bathtubs with whirlpools and a separate sitting area. At double occupancy, the ship provides a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 2.2 passengers. This ensures the Sun Princesses’ friendly and welcoming crew will always be around to help - no matter the time of day.

The Sun Princess offers a range of traditional dining, specialty dining and casual dining options, which all serve delicious fare cooked to order by the many culinary artists on board. The Regency Dining Room is the perfect place to enjoy a formal dining experience, where personal waiters attend to guests throughout the length of the cruise. Passengers looking for a more informal affair can order a hand-tossed pizza as they relax by the pool. And after indulging, guests can take a personal enrichment class, do yoga or just relax with an afternoon in one of the onboard spas.
