Why choose Pride of America?

Norwegian Cruise Line ships are instantly recognisable because of their distinctive hulls, adorned with bright and decorative artwork, and are a world apart from rival cruise lines that attempt to recreate the past. What’s on the inside of these ships is just as much of a refreshing change, making a cruise holiday an appealing option for an entirely new set of passengers.

Destinations and Itineraries

Right up until the end of December next year, there is only one place that you will find this ship - the Hawaiian Islands. A succession of seven night cruises departs from and returns to Honolulu on a fly/cruise package that lasts for 10 days.

The Hawaiian Splendours cruise includes a night at a Honolulu hotel and then sets sail for Kahului for two nights. Passengers can explore Maui islands, Mount Haleakala and the beautiful beaches of these pacific islands, on the fifth day the ship then heads to Hilo, where nature sets the stage for a spectacular show starring the Akaka falls and the Volcanoes National Park. Kona is the next port of call, where the attractions include the Mokuaikaua Church and the Hulihee Palace.

Nawiliwili is the last port of call, where the Pride of America stays for two nights, allowing passengers to see Kauai Island, Waimea Canyon and Kalapaki Beach. This itinerary is repeated with departures every seven days. With Hawaii being on the other side of the globe, the return flight spans two days.

This cruise line’s distinctive style is in evidence everywhere on this ship, from its decorative exterior, to the Tiffany-style glass dome crowning its stunning atrium. A voyage on the Pride of America offers a truly unique way to explore the paradise islands of Hawaii.

This cruise line has redefined holidays at sea and as a consequence has attracted a youthful and alternative set of passengers. The Pride of America was designed with the American market I mind and offers an impressive choice of dining and leisure options with eight restaurants and even a conference centre on board. Regardless of how energetic or therapeutic you want your cruise to be, the Pride of America can cater for your needs. On board activities can be as exhilarating as strapping into the Gyrosphere, pounding the boards of the jogging track, ball games in the sports court, or working up a sweat in the Santa Fe fitness centre which can accommodate up to 70 passengers at a time. The more sedentary or intellectual can play outdoor chess, the more casual can head for the putting green or driving net, and the more indulgent can head for one of the six outdoor Jacuzzis or the Santa Fe spa for a wide selection of treatments and therapies. Children’s facilities are equally impressive, with the Connections Teen Club with a dance floor, bar video, jukebox table football and air hockey. Younger passengers can head to the Rascals Kids Club with a paddling pool, soft play area, computers, movie room and a jungle gym. The ship’s chapel is a spot for some quiet reflection or an impulsive renewal of vows and the Pride of America’s shops and art gallery ensures there’s always something new to see and buy.

There are 1,074 cabins, more than half of which have a balcony and a further 182 have a sea view. Inside cabins are small but have sufficient storage space and come well-equipped. Outside cabins and balcony cabins have more room. Bathrooms are compact but well designed. There are no single cabins on this ship and when all cabins have double occupancy there are 2,440 passengers on board. Combined with the 800-strong international crew, this creates a ratio of one crew member for every 2.7 passengers.

A distinctive feature of all NCL ships is their Freestyle cruising option, which offers more than a dozen dining options on board to tempt passengers each evening. Pan Aisan cuisine is at East meets West, elegant French cuisine is at Jefferson’s Bistro, prime cuts are served at Cagney’s Steakhouse and contemporary Italian food is found in La Cucina restaurant. The ship’s two main dining rooms are the Liberty, with an interior styled on a colonial American theme, and the Skyline, which evokes the iconic art deco style of 1930s Manhattan. A diner, sushi bar, pizzeria, coffee shop, Japanese Hibachi restaurant and the Aloha café buffet complete the offering. If that wasn’t enough, passengers can also avail themselves of the 24-hour room service.
