Fred Olsen Black Watch Call 0800 169 4557
The Fred Olsen Black Watch is a Finnish-designed vessel that is inspired by the golden age of cruise holidays.
The design harks back to the early twentieth century in its quality and look, and the 5-star service aims to do the same. You’ll feel like a member of the aristocracy, with a team of employees dedicated to fulfilling your every whim.
The Black Watch sails all over the Seven Seas, from the dark waters of the Baltic Sea, to the diverse terrains of South America, and the exotic countries of the Far East. Aboard the Black Watch, you can live like a king and explore the world in style for a truly opulent cruise holiday experience.
The Black Watch’s itineraries encompass the globe. Choose from a tour of the Far East, a trip to the land Down Under, the delights of a Caribbean cruise, or even the medieval cities of Europe - depending on whatever takes your fancy.
For a real once-in-a-lifetime experience, choose the 80-night Southampton to Singapore Cruise. Set sail from one of the UK’s oldest sailing ports, without the hassle of a trip to the airport, and undertake the journey of a lifetime to one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, Singapore - an intoxicating blend of Eastern and Western influences. Ports of call include Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Tahiti, Sydney, and the sultanate of Brunei. When in Sydney, make sure you take the time to explore the city’s century old Botanic Gardens – these are where you get the best views of that iconic skyline. Afterwards, hop on a ferry to Watson’s Bay and enjoy lunch at the world-famous Doyle’s Seafood.
When you aren’t busy exploring your new destinations, daytimes aboard the Black Watch run at a leisurely pace. Relax on a sun lounger around one of the ship’s two pools, or hunt down a good book in the double-height library. The card room provides the perfect setting for a game of bridge, or if you prefer to keep more active, the Black Watch has a well-equipped modern fitness centre in which to burn off those 5-course meals!
A favourite place to gather as the sun sets is the Scottish-influenced Pipers’ Bar, which is the ideal place to enjoy a pre-dinner dram or cocktail and mull over the day’s experiences. After dinner, the Lido Bar comes to life, with live music events and quizzes being held nightly. The Marina Theatre is a great spot to enjoy an after-dinner movie or to while away an afternoon at sea. If you fancy a more adrenaline-fuelled end to your evening, there are the ship’s gaming tables to test your luck.
The Fred Olsen Black Watch is a great choice for couples looking to splash out on the cruise of a lifetime, in comfortable surroundings that recall the best that ocean travel has to offer.
The designers of the Fred Olsen Black Watch have attempted to anticipate all of their passengers’ needs and desires when planning the ship’s facilities and amenities. The fully equipped internet centre, laundrette and medical centre takes care of all your incidentals during your getaway, whilst an array of designer boutiques, onboard spa, bars and restaurants ensure you have all of the little luxuries that go towards making your break perfect.
All of the accommodation aboard the Black Watch is designed with the passengers’ utmost comfort in mind - even the smallest of the Inside Cabins spans an incredible 140 square foot. Balcony Cabins also provide a private outside space from which you can enjoy dazzling panoramic views as the Black Watch brings you some of the world’s most dramatic cityscapes. For a real taste of old-world nautical luxury, you can opt for a suite. All of the Black Watch’s suite accommodation includes the Suite Dreams package, which provides you with sparkling wine, fruit and flowers on arrival, with afternoon canapés served daily as you prepare to dress for dinner. Suite guests are also provided with complimentary transfers when ports are situated at a distance from the destination.
The Black Watch’s main restaurant, The Glentanar, enjoys panoramic views from its floor-to-ceiling windows, but it will be hard to tear your eyes from your plate with the gastronomic delights that will appear before you each evening. The beautifully designed Oriental Room recalls the grandeur of the imperial past, and provides an intimate setting for a special evening. The al fresco Marquee Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed lunch of burger and chips or a light salad.
