Hands up who’s desperate for some sun and blue skies this June? If you’re looking to get a head start on your summer tan, then you need to know exactly where is hot in June. The Greek Islands are always beautiful places to visit, and there’s no shortage of sun-soaked isles to choose from. Zante, with its stunning Shipwreck Beach and colourful Blue Caves, is a literal hotspot in June. Also enjoying prime position in the balmy Mediterranean Sea is the aptly-named Turkish Turquoise Coast with thousands of kilometres of beaches and warm sea waters. Now is the ideal time to visit chic Bodrum before all the rich and famous celebrities descend upon the seaside town for the summer party season. In June, the average temperature is 31°C, with 13 hours of sunshine each day and three days of rain per month.
The Algarve, Portugal
For summer holidays mixed with great culture and cuisine, head off to Portugal and the famous Algarve Coast this June. The region’s capital of Faro is a great place to base yourself if you’re looking to explore a bit more of southern Portugal, while the city itself has plenty to keep you amused. For a romantic getaway, you can’t look past Paphos, the birthplace of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. It can get extremely hot and steamy in full summer, so June is the ideal time to visit as you can enjoy the ancient archaeological sites comfortably. Paphos enjoys an average of 28°C in June, with 14 hours of sunshine and one potential rainy day in the month.
