If you haven’t made the cut for this year’s series of Love Island or you’re already happily loved-up, you can still get that tropical holiday vibe without the drama and gossip. This year, just like previous years, Love Island 2019 is filmed on the beautiful island of Majorca. And, I’m sure we’ve all fantasised about entering the doors of that stunning villa, dedicated to a a summer of fun. But if it’s a hotel stay you’re looking for, I’ve got the coolest places along the Majorcan coast, whether you’re with your other half or hoping for a bit of downtime with your best mates. Either way, you can get a taste for that villa life in one of these gems.
Cook’s Club Palma Beach
Best for beach vibes: If you live for weekends spent in cool cocktail bars and at chilled House events, I can guarantee that Cook’s Club Palma Beach will be a bit of you. Last September, I spent a week in the Cook’s Club in Hersonissos and it suited me down to the ground. With vegan treats, mixologist-made cocktails, minimal beats and DJs at night, everything you need for the holiday of a lifetime is in one place. But if you do want to adventure into nearby Palma, swanky rooftop bars and tapas spots by the sea await.
Best for groups of friends: If you want to take your party experience up a level, head to BH Mallorca for pool parties, club nights and an onsite waterpark. It’s found just 350m from the Magaluf strip for all those long, summer nights with your best friends. There are plenty of places to chill out by the pool and with KISS FM DJs hosting, you’ll be in the holiday mood all day, every day.
Hotel Astoria Playa
Best for couples: Found the other side of the island in a quieter resort called Alcudia, adults-only Hotel Astoria Playa is the place to be for some one-on-one time with your other half. The minimalist white design gives the hotel a fresh feel, and it’s just a short walk from Alcudia’s stunning Blue Flag beach (anyone would forgive you for thinking you were in the Caribbean!) There are cabanas to chill on by the pool and the historic Old Town right on your doorstep, too.
