Whenever school holidays come around, the first thing that springs to mind for most people is a family holiday, as the kids are off school. But what about all you teachers out there who can only go away at that time too? Maybe you don’t have kids and just want to enjoy a relaxing time away with your other half? Well, with that in mind, I thought I’d make some suggestions of half term holidays for adults. No kids in tow. No textbooks. Just sun, sea and sand.
February half term
Destination: Cape Verde
Hotel: Hotel Morabeza
Escape to the beautiful Cape Verde islands and bask in their year-round sunshine. Spend your days relaxing on the golden beaches or getting your adrenaline pumping with fast-paced water sports and dune adventures.
Destination: The Maldives
Hotel: Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa
Okay, so you’ve got a bit longer here, so why not venture a little further away and treat yourselves to something really special? This is a great time of year to visit the luxurious Maldives which, of course, offers the ultimate in relaxation. Massage, anyone?
May half term
Hotel: SENTIDO Kaktus
You can choose the pace of your dream holiday to Croatia. Take the opportunity to truly unwind on the stunning island of Brac or experience as many places as you can on an island-hopping adventure. Or perhaps you’d rather explore the history, sights and Game of Thrones film sets of Dubrovnik and Split?
October half term
Hotel: SENTIDO Cypria Bay
The Mediterranean island of Cyprus is perfect at this time of year. The weather is still great, but not too hot to get out and explore all the ancient sites and stunning coastline that Paphos and the surrounding areas are so famous for.
Hotel: Atlantis The Palm
Indulge in a spot of retail therapy at the world’s largest shopping mall; sample High Tea up the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa; or visit the world’s most luxurious hotel, the Burj Al Arab. Dubai is very much a record breaking city and an incredible place to enjoy a bit of winter sun.
