Paphos offers many ways to indulge yourself. If shopping is a perfect way of indulging yourself, then this city on the southwest coast of Cyprus may be the place for you.
Shopping in Paphos has transformed a lot over during recent times with famous high-street brands setting up shop in this popular tourist resort. The sunny resort is home to a giant retail shopping centre and markets to name a few. Set your alarm early for a good shop and then spend the rest of your day lounging on the beach topping up your tan, sound good? Or maybe you’re one for spending the whole day in the shops.
Kings Avenue Mall
Kings Avenue Mall is the cream of the crop when it comes to shopping in Paphos without a doubt. Opened in 2013 and home to more than 120 shops, you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to start. With brands ranging from high-streets to designer, there’s something for everyone under one roof. Shop in Tommy Hilfiger for the latest in menswear, Adidas for the latest sportswear or M.A.C for the best in cosmetics.
This is more than just a shopping centre though; there’s plenty of places to eat and drink throughout the complex. With cuisine from all across the globe, you won’t have any trouble in finding the place for you. Enjoy romantic evening meals at top restaurants or a light lunch as you take a break from your shopping trip.
There is also a cinema with six screens, so kick back, drop your bags and watch the latest film you’ve been wanting to see. Also available is an arcade and a kids’ indoor play area, perfect for dropping the little ones off so they can run wild and you can shop stress-free.
Shopping in Paphos is not all about keeping up with the latest trends in the high-street shops. Tradition is aplenty in Cyprus. Take a trip to the Paphos Market located in the centre of town with its Bazaar-style setting. You’ll be able to treat yourself to hand-made candles, art works, souvenirs to take home and many more. There’s also the open-air market where local workers come to sell their products.
At the Kivotos Gallery, you’ll find superb works of authentic arts and crafts, including jewellery, knitted items and souvenirs. The gallery has in fact been recognised by a number of local organisations for the quality of items that are made here, a must-visit then! There is also the Aphrodite jewellery store where you can treat your loved ones to an affordable new necklace or watch made locally.
The tradition of pottery and handicraft has not been lost in Cyprus, even more so in Pathos. Visit the Place and experience this tradition first hand. Located in the old town, you’ll be able to watch for yourself the creation of pottery, baskets and many more. There’s also the handicraft centre which is similar to the Place; you’ll be able to see products made from wood, silk and cotton etc.
