One of the most important decisions about going on holiday is choosing the right hotel, especially when you’re travelling with your family. When I go on holiday, I’m not only thinking about myself, but I also need to consider what everyone else will enjoy too.
With Mexico being the land of ancient sites and beautiful sun-kissed beaches there are lots of different places to choose from. To help you make the most of your sunny getaway, I’ve put together a list of the best hotels for your family holiday to Mexico.
1) Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya – Hacienda
With so many hotels to decide between, it’s great to narrow down what you’re looking for. For me, its plenty of space for lounging and lots for little ones to do. The Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya – Hacienda ticks all of the boxes for me.
It’s a great place to chill out with their two large lagoon-style pools, where you can read that new book you just can’t put down. It’s also an ideal opportunity to teach your little one how to swim with their fantastic kid’s pool. Once you’re out of the water, the fun continues at the hotel-run kids’ club.
If you’re travelling with your teenagers and looking for more of an adventure, there’s plenty of opportunities for this at the WOODWARD lifestyle sports centre. With trampolines, foam pits, a ninja assault course and so much more, spend your days being active while having fun.
This hotel featured on the ITV show, Saturday Night Takeaway’s “don’t just watch the ads – win them” where one lucky audience member had the chance to win an incredible holiday here for their whole family. Giving me a major case of holiday envy.
2) Barcelo Maya Grand Resort
If you’re looking for the perfect family hotel, look no further than the Barcelo Maya Grand Resort. With access to four hotels across the complex, it feels like you’re in own Mexican paradise, especially as it’s located on a mile-long stretch of white sand. This is great for your kids as they’ll have plenty of space to play. Plus, you can snap up a fantastic spot to soak up the sun.
While relaxing is a crucial part of your holiday, it’s essential that there’s plenty of activities for little ones. What I loved about this resort is it’s super family-friendly with a hotel-run kids’ club for 4 to 12-year-olds, a kids’ splashpark and live entertainment.
If eating food together is important to your family, like it is mine, you’ll find that there are so many options to choose from. Whether you want to try traditional Mexican dishes like delicious quesadillas or fancy a simple snack, there are 12 different restaurants, four snack bar grills and a 24hr sports bar where you can to grab a bite to eat.
3) Iberostar Cancún
If your whole family loves spending time together on the beach, Iberostar Cancún will be the perfect getaway for you. Once you arrive at the resort, all you’ll see is miles of beautiful coastline.
When you’re not spending time swimming in the sea, playing volleyball or relaxing in the sun, you can enjoy the fantastic sports on offer with access to 18-hole par 82 championship golf course, tennis courts, archery and the gym. Are you looking for a more slow-paced activity? Try aqua-aerobics, or my personal favourite, yoga.
On the last night of your holiday, a great way make incredible memories with your family is to watch the sunset together. Keep your little ones entertained by creating magnificent sand castles. It’s amazing what you can do with a bucket, spade and a good imagination.
Have you ever been to Mexico with your family before? Are there any hotels you’d recommend that I’ve missed off this list? Let me know in the comments below.
