We all want to have a holiday to remember, so why not choose a destination that has it all? Cyprus is the place where you can spend your days relaxing by the pool or exploring the archaeological sites, and your evenings watching the sunset or dancing the night away. Still not convinced? Here are just a few of the reasons why I think you’ll fall in love with Cyprus.
1) It’s home to some of the best beaches
Cyprus has a great choice of Blue Flag Beaches, which are some of the best in the Mediterranean. My favourite is Fig Tree Bay in Protaras, as its golden shores and crystal clear waters are a great place to sit back and relax with a cocktail in the warm sunshine.
2) The sun hardly stops shining
Cyprus has all the joys of the Mediterranean climate, with approximately 300 days of sunshine a year and temperatures reaching up to a scorching 33°C along the coast. So whenever you decide to travel, you know you’ll be treated to plenty of sun and hot weather.
3) Cyprus is a great place to party
It’s well known that Ayia Napa is the place to be after dark, with its world famous clubs, boat trips and round the clock beach parties, but Limassol also offers fantastic nightly entertainment. Dance the night away in one of the clubs, sip on cocktails in a traditional bar or enjoy a meal by the beach; Limassol is a great choice whatever your tastes.
4) It’s perfect for exploring
With so much to see and do, Cyprus is a great place to explore both on and off land. Visit the Ancient city of Amathus, dive underwater to see the famous Zenobia shipwreck or hike up the home of the Greek gods, Mount Olympus.
5) It’s known as the Island of Love
Cyprus is perfect for a romantic break away, not only for its beautiful scenery, but for its great mythical heritage. Legend has it that the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, was born and rose from Paphos’ foaming waves. Many swim around the Rock of Aphrodite as it’s said to make them lucky in love.
