Another year, another list of New Year’s resolutions. Sound familiar? Now, I’m all about making positive change, but I like to make sure it’s a fun process; none of this giving up the things I love! What New Year’s resolutions have you made for this year? If you’re struggling to think of any, let me share some of mine with you, which you might like to use for yourself. Here are five New Year’s resolutions we can all stick to.
1) Visit a new destination
There’s nothing I love more than crossing a new country off the bucket list; seeing new sights and experiencing new cultures. Why not make it your mission next year to visit at least one place you’ve never been to before? We’ve got some amazing destinations that are even new to us next year, such as Sardinia or the stunning Dubrovnik coast. Or perhaps you’d rather visit somewhere a bit further afield? You can find some more inspiration here.
2) Spend more quality time with family
I think we’re all guilty of spending too much time at work and not appreciating the things most important to us; our nearest and dearest. It’s so easy to get consumed in the 9-5, so I’m going to make a point next year of spending more time with the people closest to me. And what could be a better opportunity to spend time together than booking an unforgettable family holiday for everyone to enjoy? It’s the perfect way to make memories that last a lifetime.
3) Keep fit and healthy
Now, at no point did I say give something up! Simply keep fit. It takes 21 days of doing something for it to become a habit, so if you’ve spent weeks and months perfecting your beach body in time for your holiday, don’t undo all your hard work in the space of a week or two of All Inclusive indulging. I mean, by all means go wild at the buffet, but balance it out by visiting the hotel gym or taking part in some of the organised group activities such as yoga or aqua-aerobics, which many of our hotels offer. Better yet? Enjoy an early morning run along the seafront, before it gets too hot.
4) Indulge in more ‘me time’
Sometimes our lives get so busy that we struggle to find any time just for ourselves. A little bit of self-indulgence is so good for the mind, body and soul, so you should never feel guilty for it. Make time for that all-important holiday each year to give yourself a break. Then once you’re there, make sure you do all the things you want to do. Relax and unwind in your hotel’s luxurious spa, get lost in a good book by the pool, or treat you and your partner to a candlelit meal for two as you watch the sun go down. There’s nothing better than making unforgettable memories on holiday.
5) Save money
After getting married a few months back, I now feel like I’m a pro at saving money, so I want that to continue into the New Year too! Going on holiday doesn’t have to be super expensive. Plan ahead and you can take advantage of all the best deals. Alternatively, if you love nothing more than a bit of spontaneity, book a last minute holiday and grab yourself a bargain. You can cut the cost of your holiday by booking a Self Catering break. Or why not go All Inclusive? That way you know all costs are taken care of before you travel; you’ll just need a bit of extra spending money.
