    Mexico weather October

What’s the weather like in Mexico in October?

With a spectacular Caribbean coastline in the east and an equally stunning North Pacific coast to the west, Mexico’s a North American country that has different weather across its regions. The Yucatán Peninsula, which separates the Caribbean Sea from the Gulf of Mexico, is the most popular tourist area, and you'll get really hot weather here in October.

    Yucatán Peninsula

Large parts of Mexico have a tropical climate, including the Yucatán Peninsula, until you hit the Tropic of Cancer to the north, where things are more temperate. You'll get lots of sun at resorts such as Cancún and Playa del Carmen, where temperatures remain high all year round.

    Averages

The average high temperature in Cancún during October is 31ºC, so you’ll get lots of time to sit in the sun. You won’t need many warm clothes in your suitcase as things stay quite warm, with temperatures only dropping to 22ºC at night. At 29ºC the sea’s at its annual high temperature, while humidity’s also high and ranges from over 60% to well over 90%. Average rainfall drops to 177mm over 11 rainy days, after the wettest month of the year, September.

    Daylight

During October you can expect 12 hours of daylight in Cancún and seven hours of sunshine each day. Take plenty of sun cream with you as UV levels will be very high, and take extra care during the hottest part of the day. Sunset’s after 6.30pm at the start of the month, and gradually gets a bit earlier as October goes on.
