Inca Market in Majorca

Visit Majorca's biggest weekly market with a trip to the town of Inca, 30 minutes northeast of Palma Nova by car. Each Thursday you'll see the town come to life as the Inca Market gets into full swing, with stallholders selling everything from clothes and jewellery to fresh fruit and veg.

To make the most of your trip to the Inca Market, arrive as early in the morning as possible. If you don't have a hire car, take a tour from your resort or catch a train from Palma or Manacor. The market is most famous for its high quality leather, so prepare to be impressed by the range of goods on offer, including bags, jackets, belts, wallets and more.

There's plenty more for sale here aside from leather, so as you wander through the rows of vendors, look out for carved wood, traditional lace and handmade shawls. If you're on the hunt for gifts and souvenirs, you're certainly in the right place.

After you've browsed the market's 60 plus stalls, get back in your hire car and pay a visit to Binissalem, a nearby town famous for its excellent local wines.

If you're feeling adventurous, take the steep and winding drive up into the Tramuntana mountains for breathtaking views out to sea.

If you're passing through Inca on any other day of the week, the town is still worth a visit. Enjoy a walk through the old streets, stopping to eat traditional food at a local restaurant or sip on drinks in one of the many wine cellars.
